Getting Numeric Reading of Fuel Remaining in Litres in Logan lower variants

guys a friend of mine showed me something really awesome for people who dont have the top of the line DLS / GLS Variants. We can actually get a numeric reading of the litres of fuel remaining in the fuel tank.

For that follow these instructions:
1. Keep Engine Off.
2. Press the Trip Button (there's only one there)
3. Keeping the button pressed, turn the ignition key to turn on the Panel (dont start the car though)
4. Keep the button pressed until you enter "Diagnostic Mode" where you will the see the Tachometer & Speedometer move wierdly in steps (may freak you out )
5. Press the Trip button again, you will see all the LCD segments displayed
6. The next click there is a number with a small 'L' at the bottom of it. Thats the fuel remaining in the tank!

Will try to post a couple of pics later... Try it out & lemme know if it worked!

Adios,
Anil

well even if its + or - 1 litre i still feel its pretty useful. See there are 9 lines on the display, yesterday when i checked this out, the fuel indicator was showing 4 lines & tried this 'trick' where it showed i had 23L remaining(btw The fuel tank capacity is 50L)

Good you posted it, I had read about this trick, but never knew if it worked in Indian cars and was too lethargic to check it out. Anil, it would be good to post some pictures of the same as you tested.

I don't know if you can do it in all indian cars, coz the Logan has a computer display which is deactivated/not installed for Lower & Mid Variants. I just don't understand what difference it will make to them if it is present across all variants. Cost cutting i guess

To check if its correct

Top up your car and then check it.
Wish something like this was in honda and others!

@ diabloo: brother. (snaronikar's post: is this workable in other cars which has digital meters? I can't try mine as it is analogue). i meant there is no such thing in the car (wagon r atleast ). got my point friend?? cleared that fuel indicators are provided only in mid sized vehicles (starting). this thread started with logan , may be later some guys find such things in different vehicles, Do you mean to start a different thread for that?
