Velocity measurement kit

I am on the lookout for a velocity measurement device - to test the actual speeds when riding my bike. I have looked at the kit from Bushnell - i found it to be bulky and it required someone else's help to point the speed gun in the direction of my bike.
I was wondering if any of you know of any toolkits which are compact (ideally worn around the neck!).

Thanks!

You can use some GPS receiver (now available in many cell phones as well).

Accuracy of speed is +- 0.1 miles per hour. Minimum cost of hand held GPS unit would be 5000 Rs.

Thanks! Can you mention names of any such manufacturers? (Even cellphone model numbers would be helpful!)

I have Nokia N82 it costs 19,500. It has GPS.

Which cell phone do you have? You might be able to add GPS to that for 4k G33 Bluetooth GPS | GPS Receivers | iRide Technologies

How about a Racelogic Velocity Box. Said to be one of the best in the market right now. Don't know about the dealers in India though.
Well you can always send them an e-mail.

Here's the link by the way.

If you have sources in US, you can get a basic GPS for around 50$

It is GPS box as well. Which one you want depends on the accuracy you need and money you can spend.

If you can live with .1 mph error, then basic GPS receivers are fine.

Re: Velocity measurement kit

I have recently purchased the Racebpx Pro, for my cars' drag run and braking timings. It is a very accurate device, with an inbuilt Gps and an app which also measures Gforces.
