Way back in 1999 when I got my Safari, it had only central locking. So I got a remote central locking fixed to it. It would not lock automatically, but the driver's door lock used to lock all the four doors.
Jay is asking about a separate switch like in my City which locks and unlocks all the doors, I think!

The central locking that im talking about is the one that has an independent switch that locks all doors, which, when activated cannot be opened individually by other passengers.
The present system is not foolproof. The driver can lock all doors and anyone can open any door even when locked by the driver - so how can that be called central locking if anyone can open it.
Maybe TML provides central locking with decentralized opening.:D
Why I dont like this system is because my dog has figured out how to open the car door.:uncontrol

Oh My Dog! Thats dangerous!
The fella back home has learnt how to lift the latch on our gate, so now we HAVE to bolt the gate shut at all times. I know how you feel, man.

Hows that possible! I have retrofitted Minda central locking in the LX version and once locked by the driver, the doors cannot be opened.
Thank god my Lab is not that smart.

You have the child lock on the rear doors and the rear tailgate. If you activate the child lock your dog will not be able to open the door from inside - however skilled it may be :)

That I am well aware of, but the child lock is nothing but nuisance value for me. Most often adults have to be rescued by using the outside door handle.
Thats why i wish TML provided REAL central locking and not a half baked solution in the name of central locking. I dont think adding a specific central locking switch on the drivers door panel will add to the vehicle cost in any way.

Got it in my Toyota Prado. Central door locking and central power window locking on the drivers door panel.
Its 9pm, on the highway, I see the service light coming on. It stays for 2 seconds, and then goes away. Happens a few times.
Call up the dealer helpline. and he says not to worry.
Tells me to do the following.
Engage 3rd gear, accelerate to 80+, shift to neutral, and full throttle for few seconds.
I do that, and don't see any service light.
Then at Khajjar, it comes again twice.
Come down to plains, fuel tank is on reserve, and do full tank from a known reliable pump. 300+ kms after that no warning lights, and I get 16.8kmpl :p
That happens due to bad fuel,i myself experienced that.
and i'm sure after a couple of tankfuls from any reliable petrol bunk,you will be fine.
Left side window opens and closes as if its a demo as if someone tried to open/close. I cant open or close it from driver side now.
Wiring issue?

Hi,
Can any one explain as how I can de-activate the Carry-Me-Home feature on the 2.2??? Many a times I have been called by the valets/passers by/etc.etc. that my headlight is on!!! It is quite irritating especially when I am in a hurry!!! :Frustrati

This was posted by Dadu earlier on this thread.
Remove key-->Open Door-->Follow me home lights-->close doors-->press unlock and then lock.
