I have to service my 2004 SAFARI A/C and got a quote from a mechanic for Rs.7000 for the following works:

1. A/C Gas Recharge
2. A/C Cleaning
3. Hose Pipe replace due to leakage

Is it a fair prise, or do anybody know any good A/C Mechanic in Chennai?

I am not sure about the price you paid. There is an A/c mech in the road that goes opposite to the Sanskrit College in Mylapore - in the left side, towards the other end of the road.

And am telling he is good because my dad's Peugeot 309 goes there for A/c related stuff and, considering the kind of car Peugeot is, he has been doing a good job!

i live around there. he seems poorly equipped.

anyway you can try team a/c services on vysar street in t nagar. its pretty close to seshadri grounds or barbeque nation.

Is this guy good?

I'm not sure about the price he quoted. But go to this guy AC SURESH (his name) and his shop is adjacent to the new bridge in North Usman Road. Last year he has overhauled my AC and still its working fine. Probably i may visit his shop this weekend, if possible we will meet there

Do you know his job name? Is it near to the new Kodambakkam Bridge or Pothys Bridge?

Thanks friends. I have one more doubt: Will a SAFARI A/C Cooling Coil cost Rs 6000 (subros brand). Is it a fine price?

My esteem CC cost me 4.8k, 6k for safari sounds good. Are you getting it from TATA or from the open market ?

But unfortunately got a better quote and did it with one mech on 12 hours:

A/C Gas - Hawwa 134a - 2*750mg - 600
A/C Hose Pipe - 1100
A/C Cooling Coil - 3000
A/C Full overhaul & Oil Change - 2000

Total: 6700

What exactly is AC Full overhaul?

How come the CC came down to 3k after 6k ?

The guy cleaned everything except the compressor. He changed all foams, cleaned the pipes with compressed air.

The actual cost of a TATA SAFARI Front A/C Cooling coil is Rs. 2450+tax, bought it directly from SUBROS.
