Pajero 1994 - Light Indicators

Hi,

Pajero 1994 right hand drive. The "AT/Temp" light on the dash board switched on.

What could be the issue and how best can it be fixed. I will be contacting
Mitsubishi for it.

But have seen how attendants may overlook or do not understand at all!!!

Appreciate assistance.

Regards

Zaksupra.

Is it temperature warning light? If so is the engine heating up?

If it is on all the time - Your AutoTrans oil is low in Level, Top it up or better still get it flushed fully.

OR

If it lights up only after driving for some time your AutoTrans oil is overheating.Check the front mounted AutoTrans oil cooler (Looks like a small radiator) it might be clogged up and need cleaning.

Also if your car has done high milage - i assume it has, your autogearbox clutch pack will be worn and is overheating the AT fluid.

Also since you have an import with an auto gearbox the local Mitsubishi service won't know to troubleshoot your problem.

I don't think the local Mitsu dealers can service the automatic of Import Pajeros. They lack the training and the skills to do this. I came across one in chennai which the dealer couldn't repair and it was being repaired at Kamlesh Electra.
