hello guys,
i was unaware about putting distilled water in the radiator along with the coolant. i drained out the entire coolant , washed the radiator and put a new castrol coolant with normal fresh water (not the borewell water)
will it harm my radiator as i read somewhere that one should use only distilled water.
what are the steps i should take now
You did it knowingly and Service center does that behind you lol:. I do not think any harm will be done. Just relax and drive.
No it will not harm the radiator. It is fine. What is ratio you have added?

about 70:30 i poured the entire bottle of coolant and then topped up with water, i had drained the whole radiator and the reservoir bottle too
Usually our plain tap water also has some minerals which cannot be told by taste, some are required by the body some not.
But the same is not true for radiators, the distillation process removes all these minerals which are not required in the radiator.
For eg. the water in my house is very slightly hard and shows up on the taps over months of usage (white deposits) but not while I drink.
I hope you got the point.

+1 from me for this. Not an issue at all.
even if you put tap water or borewell water nothing will happen, but your radiator should not run dry thats the point.
Nothing to worry mate.... relax !! That is absolutely fine... nothing to bother about so much !!
Just cross check water level prior to your regular check ups, thats it !!
Don't worry dude! I did it on my M800 a decade ago. As long as you are not resorting to the Moraji formula, it should be fine.
MODS, this is a joke, so please don't delete it!

That was a relly good one :uncontrol :uncontrol
My previous car, Ikon 1.3 once cracked its coolant pipe in the middle of nowhere. I did drive without water/coolant for some distance (stopping every now and then). I strongly don't recommend it, but I guess having water is much better than nothing at all. So don't worry, nothing is lost.
While aquaguard is supposed to purify the water and get rid of bacteria etc., didn't know that it turned the same into distilled water. At least that is the inference I got from your statement..

LOL, it is as good as or as bad as tap water, from the coolant POV!! :)
