Kumar just a suggestion,instead of spending a bomb on performance brakes why not get OE pads and upgrade to better tyres if you are running stock ones.I think a wider and upsized tyre would improve braking distance and stability.

Need a help on the mileage of civic manual transmission. It will be really helpful to know the mileage in city and highway. with and without ac.

In Mumbai traffic, mileage is between 9-10 kmpl. On highways the max I have seen is 15 kmpl, which I got on NH4. 14 kmpl is more the norm.

All figures wih Ac on at all times, never drive without it. Ac off may give you 1kmpl or so extra I assume, not much more than that.

I have a couple of questions reg. the tyres for the Honda Civic :

1. 205/65/15 --> Is this a good upsize? Will it have any impact on the driveability/handling etc?

2. Tyre pressure for the stock 195/65/15 is mentioned as 30psi. Will it be the same if tyre is upsized to 205/65/15, or is it different ?

This is the ideal upsize one can go on a civic while still retaining the stock wheels.This tyre size would increase the ride height by a few mms which help reduce the bottom scraping problem to some extent along with other benefits like better stability and braking.

On the other hand what happend is that i found the car to have marginally slower pickup then the stock size as naturally the tyres size has increased the rolling resistance.Also i found the steering a little bit on the heavy side after i shifted to 205's.Fitting the same in the spare wheel location also may be a problem but i haven't tried doing the same since my spare tyre is of stock size.Look up for the Civic related thread in the tyres and alloy wheels section.

Does anyone face a slight difficulty when shifting the gear from P to R sometimes?? I find the lever being slightly harder to shift and there's a jerk and a sound when it shifts to R. Am I doing something wrong?
