I think you need the Philips screwdriver from the Watchmakers set, not a regular one.

The battery model no. of remote lock is CR1616. Can be bought for Rs.40/- from your local watch shop.

110k! It is possible that this is the second time the mount may need replacement as I see the current mount looks pretty new!

Yeah, no jumping off the bay! And when the car is warmed up, the vibrations are pretty low in P and R. Maybe it is the initial stage and with time it may become worse.

@mukeshgoel; I was about to post the query about battery no. Due to civil work at home my Civic is in Burqa, so I cannot access the manual. Let me add that the life of a Lithium Cell is 6 years maximum.

Could you please elaborate on the bold bits?
Mine is an October 2007 S-AT (only a month younger than yours). What is the procedure for getting it replaced *for free* ?

Asking this because obviously it is no longer under Honda Warranty.

I just called up shetty motors to inquire about the Civic's fuel filter and was pleasantly surprised to hear that the same cost 2700 bucks and this is the orignal.I was under the impression that it cost around 4K something? Have prices come down or i was mis quoted the price ? My car will be needing the same same as it on the 39.8K figure. Was thinking of doing it next month but if the price is what i was quoted then i might it do it this month itself.

Did you ask Him like this " I want Original Honda In Original Honda packing and it should me Made In Japan"

Honda A.S.S uses Made in japan one, i also have Japan made Honda Fuel filter in the car.

the tawainese ones come cheaper but then, you should NEVER compromise on fuel filters and other filters as they are what make your engine breathe properly. Chocked or bad filter = Long term damages to the engine.

I discovered a huge Tyre Market in Jaipur that I wasnt aware of! They have thousands of used tyres. I went with a friend (Civic) and came across 5000-8000 km done used tyres, which has no bubbles, hardly any wear and tear for 900 rs. each!!!! But 4 of them were of different brands (2 of michelin, one of yoko and one of bridgestone) but same size 195/65 R15. No doubt all tyres were fine. But should he get these in his third tyre change (80000 kms). The total cost for new tyres of one company shall be 5800x4 = 23200/- whereas he is getting these slightly used ones for 3600/- (with further scope of bargaining! Maybe something like 3300/- for 4)......what say? Even I am tempted into it now. They have tyres of so many sizes and in such terrific bulk.

My suggestion : buy these used tyres only for the spare rim. The used tyres may not be safe for high-speed use. I would never take the risk of using such tyres in a high-speed car like the Civic. They may look good visually, but one never knows the actual condition of the tyre. Not worth the try, IMO, considering the safety aspect alone.

Please stay away if tyre is older than 3 years. A tyre loses its suppleness in 3 years. Mileage on tyres is not important, age plays an important value. Though you may get tyres that are comfortable brands (Michelin), the tyres last for 30k approx. given that they are used for 5k-8k (you are assuming, its not possible to guess kms run by checking the tread, or they are stolen tyres)
You should buy 1 tyre for stepney. do not compromise on comfort and safety. my michelins have started reducing the suppleness after doing 15k+ on it and tread still looks as good as new. I can safely sell it as a 5k-8k used tyre, no one can validate it. besides the tyre looks good, but its 2+ years old. please verify the week/year of manufacture.

You should never buy unknown tires for safety reasons, that too for a high-performance car like the Civic, my opinion.

How are you sure that these are actually from Michellin / Yoko ? clap:

With so many cheap look alikes in India - I'd never put them on my Civic.

I'd rather go to a well known and reputed tyre dealer, pay through my nose, and get the best for my Civic.

Old tyres? No way....
