Thanks, Jatin.
Any idea what the technical name/number/nomenclature of this bulb in Civic is? |
Why dont you take the vehicle, and remove the bulb, since its fused out anyways, and check around. All the specs of the bulb would be there on the bulb itself. Excuse if you have already done this.
These are the Amber blinkers. I changed one of the pair recently. I could get it from my parts retailer. I suggest you do what I did, remove the bulb and then take it to the dealer.

Good idea. Why didn't I think of it? Will do it pronto.

Do you know where I can find part number for our asian civic for axle ?
Thinking to order it online.
|
Nope. You can get a new axle from Karol Bagh, Kashmere gate or Palika Bhavan (opposite hyatt).

It's not advisable to get the bearing clean & install new boot rubber on faulty axle ?
|
Nope, once the bearings of CV joint start making noise, one has to change the CV joint. If one figures out a kaput boot early, one can change the boot and let the car roll. However, in most cases, dust manages to enter the CV Joint when boot is kaput and the CV joint goes kaput sooner or later.
I'd say, make a habbit to check the boots of axles and steering assembly every 15 days or so along with other fluids etc. If you catch a kaput boot early, you can save yourself quite some money.

Can somebody advise me about where in Bangalore, I can source after-market front bumpers? Not the OEM ones, but something that looks better. Something like what you see in these pics. |
You might wana check with RRP.

I spent a minute expanding that acronym. Red Rooster Performance, am sure, you meant. Well, I thought they were only into performance mods. Their website talks about a paint booth, so I will try them. Thanks very much!
I have a CD stuck in the CD player of my 2007 Civic since today morning. If the eject button is pressed the HU screen shows 'mech error'.
Can someone guide me about DIY for forcibly ejecting the stuck CD without going to the dealer.
My key is not going completely into the lock of the boot of my Civic. Internal boot release is working fine.
What can be the reason?
Can I do something myself?

First thing is, do no harm. I mean, do not try to force your way in.
Then with a sharp wire try to feel if anything is stuck inside.
Then lubricate your key with a good oil and gently try to insert it into the keyhole.
Best of luck.
I have not tried any force.
Don't know if sharp wire idea will work or not but I will lubricate the spare key and try.
Has someone else faced this problem?
It was working fine when I left my office ( myself unlocked and kept something). After I reached home and parked my car below my apartment tower. After 30 minutes or so, the key refused to go inside.
Kids of my society seem to be decent but you never know if they inserted anything.
@mukesh
same thing happened with my civic and 800 the kids of my society pushed a safety pin inside the lock
due to which i had to remove the lock barel and dismantle it and remove the pin thankfully no damage was done.
Thanks Jatin.
For this kind of work, you suggest Honda Service Center or nearby workshop will be able to clear it ?
Nearby workshop if he has good locksmith to repair the lock or else Honda but i doubt if honda would repair it.

Deja Vu again! Has happened to me thrice so far in 12 months. Honda dealers in Bangalore refuse to fix problems with the CD Player and always ask me to go to an Alpine service center instead.
Costs about Rs. 2,500 to fix.
But after it conked out the third time, I bought myself a USB to AUX-IN converter. I still get the "Mech Error" thing, and haven't bothered to get it repaired.

My off hand recollection is that whenever I start in the morning it begins with 1 bar and goes up to its usual temp within 5 mins or so of driving. I cant ever recollect it being on 0 bars but now that you've mentioned this I will specifically check this tomorrow morning and let you know my experience. |
Honda folks said its normal to have one bar lit. Were you able to confirm it. Can anyone who has the facelifted civic confirm it ?
If it is so, then why did not do the same all these 15 months. I am really surprised.

Mine a 2011 Civic, when starts there is always one bar on the temperature gauge, and after driving a while it goes up to ~50% level and stays there. I have never seen it to start at 0 bar (or no bars) as far as i can remember.
