Do i rev my Alto too hard?!

hi guys!

i have a query about my 5yr old Alto Lxi..
the recommended max speed for 3rd gear is 80kmph.
sometimes when i am overtaking,I need to revv the car in the same3rd gear& i touch 60-70 in 3rd.
Now my Q is whether thats harmful for the engine somehow?
&secondly, wat would happen if i keep revving beyond 80 in 3rd. he he!!

The RPM limiter will kick in to save your engine from exploding off. So, keep revvin!
Btw, the 3rd gear can take the car upto 110kmph! With slight mods, it will go more!

You cant rev it past redline - fuel cutout will prevent that. (Should..)

However it is possible to over-rev by accelerating to 100km in 3rd, and then dropping it into second and letting go of the clutch. There is a good chance you engine will blow up. I'll see if you "he he!!" then lol

Rev on happily! You're actually doing the engine a favour by doing this once in a while!

Carry on! Just do not do it for an extended period. But say, why do you want to do it? Unless you are racing full time... are you?

+1.

I feel the same way about it.
and not just about engine but everything in life. Once in a while just push it harder than you normally would.
