hi All

One of my bro's cars is a 2 year+/1Lac Kms+ Santro zing and its suspension has gone for a toss completely.

Now my bro wants to get it overhauled/changed completely so that it becomes new.

i need to know what components i need to buy in order to get it done.i know of a suspension mechanic but he has all the local stuff and i trust T-BHP more than anyone.

so can anybody list the parts needed, their approx rates and availability help so that i can buy them

Does anyone know how much it would cost to change the struts and bushes on a Palio 1.2?

The front struts cost Rs.1200-1300 each, The rear shock absorbers cost Rs.600-800 each, labour around Rs.600-800plus taxes.
These are Hyundai ASC rates. The whole job takes around 2 hours.

Your bro drove 50000km per year.. wow that's a lot of driving.

i believe you only need to change the shock absorbers.
2800 for front two and 1800 for the back two. labour extra.

rubber bushing has to be checked. replace if needed.

Re: What components to buy to overhaul Santro Suspension completely

Old thread but same question. My wife's santro is 84k km and 5.5 year old. Suspension overhaul is needed and I have scheduled to get it done on Monday, 20th Feb at my trusted reliable mechanic.

Front driver side is a bit tilted down than other side when parked on flat surface and seems to have lost the damping completely. It can be pressed by a little bit of weight and seems like only coil spring is supporting the car. Situation at rear is also not good. So I know it definitely needs complete work.

Since this car is used by my wife and we do want to keep the car for next 2-3 years, I want to get this work done in it's entirety. The intent is to have a look at all suspension related, Engine/ gear box mount related parts and replace as needed. Below is what I have on mind, please help if there is anything else I should include in the list, and good brands/ approx prices for the parts from outside reliable shops.

1. Replace front and rear shock absorbers
2. Replace strut mounts, anti roll bar bushes and other suspension related rubber parts
3. Check engine and gear box rubber mounts and replace as needed
4. Check lower arms, bushes, tie rods, ball joints and replace as needed
5. Check power steering related parts (though there are no PS related issues)

Many thanks in advance for your inputs.
