Fiat Service in Bangalore - help!

Folks,

I've been getting my Palio MJD serviced at Prerana Motors on OMR so far - twice actually . I took delivery of the car in Madras, but both the 1st and 2nd service were done by Prerana.

Prerana is very convenient as it's close to where I live, but the service advisors are a little clueless. Also, I didn't see the OMR facility listed on Fiat's website as an authorized service center! Fiat India

I was wondering if there were other, better service centers for Fiat in Bangalore. I would also be very grateful if any contributers to this thread could recommen a specific service advisor whom they trust at the service center that they recommend.

Thank you!

Who are you talking to at Prerana OMR? Pattabi / Sridhar / Sundar?

Couple of ASCs I recommend based on the feedback at Palio users group:
1. GreenTracks, Hosur Road (near Silkboard)
Meet the Service Advisor: Babu
2. Concorde Motors, Mysore Road
Meet the Fiat Service advisor: Vinay Badami / Somu

AVOID this one if possible and use this ONLY as the last resort. This used to be ok/good > 6-12 months ago or so. the quality/service levels have gone down here like stock market prices. I used to get my S10 serviced here and have seen it deteriorate.

This person Babu is a smooth talking operator and nothing else. You can search for feedback here in T-BHp and in PUG also.

Currently I get my work done here for last 3-4 months and am currently satisfied with the parts availability, pricing, service attitude. Do check about them also on PUG

Cheers,

Been talking to Sundar, and this new guy Zakir. Sundar seems an old hat, and offers some inane excuses for any problem that I site, while Zakir is clueless most of the time.

Thanks khan_sultan. Seems like Concorde is a common referral, so I'll give it a shot.

Concorde is generally the best in Chennai and Bangalore. However, their locations in Bangalore coupled with manic traffic prevent me from going there.

My Safari goes for the 60K service tomorrow morning (~9:30 am) at Prerana OMR. Drop in if convenient and I'll see how I can help you.

hrag,
Thank you for your kind offer. Unfortunately, I don't think I can manage this as I need to get in to work by 9. However, I would appreciate it if you would allow me to use your name as referral when I leave my car at Prerana the next time around. Thanks again!

@Ice
Manipal motors off airport road is ok - not exceptional but no major complaints also.
Prashanth is a decent service advisor. They have a couple of mechanics who have undergone training at Fiat and I saw them in action last week when I had given my car for service. They used all the right tools and seemed to know their way about a Palio and its engine bay.

@Viper 711
Thanks for your input. Will keep this in mind. Let me give Prerana OMR one more shot (thanks, hrag!) and then I'll switch.

Re-opening this thread because I want a good service station for my Palio MJD.

I have been taking my car to Green Tracks since day1 because I read good recommendations from here and PUG. But my experience so far has been not so satisfactory. My car is over an year old now.
I once got the rear side just next to the tail lamps painted and they did it badly and and it looked different from rest of the body but thankfully Mr Babu who is the much talked about person there got it redone free of cost the next time.
They usually leave of one or two problems though minor unattended and do this every time.
I had a stiff clutch since the beginning and when I asked them to do something about it they put a kind of extension after getting some part from FIAT and that problem got solved but after a few days the steering became very tight and was rubbing something which they rectified after another visit.
I have been telling to them about the small rattle at the hatch door side and they never do anything about it.

These and small other issues have forced me to reconsider them again after being with them for over a year. One thing about them is they look very orderly and the garage looks clean and well maintained. Babu also talks and listens politely but I am little worried about their work.

It also looks reassuring to see a lot of Palios parked there in various stages of service.

But I would like to take my car someplace which need not be clean and the guys need not be very polite but know and do their work par excellence. In short I am ready to shell out the money if they deliver.

Zaks,

I would recommend Concorde motors on Hosur road ( near kudlu gate). My 1.6 has got serviced for the last two years from here and i would rate their service definitely good. ofcourse, they don't have the cleanest workshop, but you should meet Asaf who seems to be a pretty knowledgeable person. My 1.6 has been serviced 5 times now and all the issues were resolved to my satisfaction.Give it a shot !

P.S - Mate, for the great cars we get from FIAT, the A.S.S is definetely not top notch so don't go with big expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Fiat Service in Bangalore !!

Howdy Folks,

I used to get my car Fiat Palio 1.9D serviced at Manipal Motors in bangalore. But when i called them up today, the lady mentioned that Manipal Motors have stopped servicing Fiat vehicles since 3 months now. I was perplexed and tried reaching the Service Manager "Shivram Nayak". His phone was switched off and the lady told me that the fellow is on a vacation.

My problem is that i don't trust my car with any mechanic, having read stories in this forum about the problems that the local mechanics create. I would appreciate any good service station for Fiat Vehicles.

I live in HRBR layout and work in C.V.Raman Nagar.

How is the general feedback on Prerana Motors Servicing for Fiat Vehicles?

How is Concorde Motors doing with respect to Fiat Servicing?

Regards,
Manish

Kudlu gate service centre is of Prerana motors, not Concorde. I had my first service here for the Punto and the service staff seemed courteous enough, though they apparetly do not have much knowledge about the Punto or the diesel nuances of a Crdi. Hopefully, they ramp up fast, problem are going to come sooner or later.
