Starting Problem.

Hi all,
from last 2 days i am having a strange problem with my Nissan...
i usually go to office by my car or bike as i have to go at 5 AM in the morning...
Its not stating in the morning since last 2 days...
but when i came back from office at 4 PM and i went and started the car...it started but after 2-3 selfs...
its been raining since 2 days here, Could this be the problem...
or something i need to check...
HELP PLEASE....

Check your battery line. Looks like a leakage which drains the cell's juice very slowly. Do it ASAP. Remember evert time you use self starter, it takes 14 to 15 amp of current. Push start the car (not using self that is) and take to a mechanic.

but my car is A/T, so canot push start...
there are no leaks in the battary had changed the battary few days back might be 1 month max...
its taking the self but not starting...

I'm not saying battery leakage but line leakage. Taking self but not starting means your ignition system is not getting the current. As you said car started after few selfs yesterday..I would like to believe that there's no major problem but small leakage in the line some where.

When you say leak does it mean open wires, somethign like this...

Chech the Coil line/distributor line. Doesn't have to be open wire but a small opening from insulation cover which is creating a short some where.
Off topic though, rats create these kinda problems often.

yeah that is what i first thought. RATS! seems like they get a kick out of the electric shock from the battery.

Yes, i had the same problem with my hyundai accent today. Was not starting even after 5-6 tries, but did so later. Will need to check if the problem with the wiring or maybe the rats! hopefully the former.
