Ikon Indicator Stalk frightfully expensive!!!!

Hello ppl!! My left side indication does not autocut, when I enquired, there is no repairing, only replacement of entire stalk for such a small issue and guess what, its for over whopping 3 grands!

Is there any solution to it? Can a local mechanic fix it with 'jugaad' or should i get it replaced without thinking twice. Please suggest.

Suggest you go for a new one. Local mechanic won't be able to fix that. Most of these return clips are made out of plastics. They'll try something and you can expect other issues coming up.

Alternatively you can try out second hand part market. May be you'll get a clean one from there.

I've changed the combination switch twice in my Sumo.
3k is not expensive for a ford. Go for it.

Well i had a problem with my switch assembly and had to change the whole unit (damages Rs.3600). The ford guys told me that this switch cannot be repaired and the whole thing has to be replaced. I also tried for some repair work locally but did not find some one who does it. So had to get it replaced since the head lights were not working.
