Battery Terminal Coat - It it worth ?

Is this Battery Terminal Coat worth the purchase or is this another marketing gimmick ?

In lieu of this, can we use the good ol' cheap White Petroleum Jelly ?

I don't know about 3M product. But I have seen my UPS guys using some imported spray coat which gives much better protection than the normal petroleum jelly. The problem with Petroleum jelly is, you need to apply them after cleaning the contacts, terminals with an abrasive for best protection.

This spray appears to penetrate the outer surface and saves you the hassles of cleaning beforehand.

Hyundai Service Centre uses a similar spray. Not sure whether it is 3M or something else. Terminal will be in blue colour.

Mithun, if you don't mind the cost of it, by all means go ahead and use it!

Petroleum Jelly is a simple to procure and very inexpensive solution (or jelly!).
