Rehaan,
The occasional less power & unresponsiveness is there! :(

Where did you fill up?

The bad fuel was filled from BP Bunk opposite to Accenture, Sholinganallur for Rs.200/-.

Tanked up from BP Bunk on Airport road, the one next to Radisson Hotel.

Dont let FORD A.S.S know that you used system G, as this might be put against you, you know all A.S.S have this habit of blaming stuff on the owner.

They might even go on to say that you voided the warranty.

The Ford Fiesta manual recommends that System G be used with 91 octane petrol. That will not be an issue.
@anachronix--should we assume that the issue has been sorted out?

This one's supposed to be good.
They stock 97 octane also.

Try IOC regular petrol and add the correct amount of System G and report if you see any difference.

I feel this is a fuel quality issue more than anything else. Then maybe you can check out the fuel filter, and also run a test of the fuel pump if still unresolved.

I dint face the starting trouble until now. I would call it completely sorted only after 2 weeks observation.

@Jaggu, I have filled the IOC Fuel + SystemG today.

I will give a feedback after couple of day's driving.

Ana, did you face this problem again? My car is also not starting at first crank and takes 3-4 cranks to do so. My Zen too had such an issue. They just changed the starter motor for free. Do let me know if you did anything to address this matter. Cheers!

May be, we should have a seperate thread where users can warn others about their experience with petrol bunks. Adulteration and Incorrect measure. This would help us all, where to fill and where not to !

cheers

Dude, first thing... my name is Arun! Ana sounds too girlish :p

I got a complete ECU reset from Ford A.S.S and the problem is history now. I beleive its nothing to do with the starter motor.

Take a look at the manual and there are a few guidelines given on what to do when the car refuses to start on the first crank.

There is one more issue in my car which I want to be clarified here, when I am revving my engine high and shifting gears I hear a 'creak' noise when I slot into 4th Gear. Either way from 3rd to 4th or downshifting from 5th to 4th and I can hear this 'creak' noise. Got it checked twice by the Ford A.S.S and they found nothing to be wrong.

Any thoughts on this, BHPians?

Yeah yeah! Lets plan for coming monday :D

I never faced any starting issue till today (only 30 or closer starts within 1 month after delivery). Metro ford service in charge also recommended systemG when I took the delivery, but as an option. I am giving up on systemG searches, because I cant find it anywhere now. I tried HP pumps, IOC, BP outlets and atleast half a dozen lubricant shops. None have stock. Any idea on the cost part ? Is it wise to fill premium fuel or normal petrol with systemG ? I am curious to know the price difference too.

Shaju,

SystemG is recommended additive by Ford. And I guess, the SystemG should be added only with normal unleaded fuel. SystemG is a BP product and it should be available from BP outlets and your dealer/A.S.S center would stock this as well.

But I dont think this has got something to do with the starting issues!

Try the IOC pump in Metro ford compound in St Marks Rd, they usually have System G with them. I used to fill her every alternate tank fulls and worked like a charm.
