Team-BHP - What is Teflon Coating and does it really help?

^^ Ajay, in Delhi, where people simply show no respect for others' property, I do feel you'll be disappointed by what people do to your car in short order, wittingly or unwittingly! Much as I'd like to claim I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I dare say I have now conditioned myself to simply ignore the minor nicks and bumps that my cars inevitably suffer. I've learnt to live with them. The bonus is that I have consistently got a better re-sale value for my cars because prospective buyers can see everything that the car has ever suffered and that no attempt has been made to conceal it!
To each his own, I guess.

Hi Anup. I think that is the most practical thing - you take care of your car, get the best stuff, but do not expect it to remain in showroom condition forever. Showroom-like feel can be had in showroom like environs where the car is parked in an air-conditioned room, and not being driven!

I am getting adjusted to that feeling. This morning, gave my car a dust off with a microfiber handle-duster, wet my mitt with F1 wash n wax and ran it over the car, and finally did a soft rub with the 3M cloth. Overall, I used about 150 ml of the mixed water. (What I have found handy and super-effective over the years is to make a mildly-concentrated mix of F1 wash n wax in a 2L coke bottle - I wet the mitt with it every time I need to clean the car, instead of pouring it in a bucket for a full-water wash.)

This will be my daily routine, unless I have the cover on, and back it up with fortnightly waxing. For now, looks like no 3M packages, no coatings, no PPF... This sounds quite peaceful and settled.

Where can I get teflon coating done in Cochin? I bought a new car last saturday, and I am to park the car in open area, where. There is a high probability of bird dropping, especially that of crows and bats.
Any advice on teflon coating or any alternative that protects the car paint is highly appreciated.
