I have a 38K done Baleno Lxi and it seems to be jerking at low-gears with A/C on. This missing kind of thing I can feel in B2B traffic only.
Another problem that came up after the recently done service
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...-workshop.html is that when I completly depress accelerator pedal the pickup is not linear. It is as if it takes some time to respond. This issue is present in every gear, suppose if I am in 60 at 3rd gear and press pedal completely then it takes some time to get going. I can feel that pedal is pressed but pickup is low. I hope I am able to explain the issueplease:
I am planning to take it to service centre this weekend and wanted to take experts opinion before service guys can say that 'This is a not a issue'.
Thanks

its because of the low rpm.one you hit 2000-2500 rpm it pulls, untill then it drags a little.its normal
IMO doing 60 @ 3rd gear would place engine in its power band.
Shouldn't lag.

I had this problem once after some idiot car wash aimed the wand at the engine. Water may have got into the throttle body or in the ignition module. MASS cleaned it for me, abut 500 rupees, problem gone.

totally missed that..
get spark plugs checked
next plug wires
ignition coil
also
fuel pump.
can't think of anything else right now.
Looks like an overhaul for me. Check with the maruti guys.
The culprit might be your clutch here, Just check your clutch
Also as follows

When was the last time you got your fuel injectors cleaned ?? Usually jerks happens due irregular fuel supply Get it cleaned, Reset ECU and your problem should be solved.
I fully agree with @ashthdivx. I was driving a friends Baleno on the highway (NH2). He uses Normal Petrol. The car was really sluggish, nothing like the vaunted Baleno pick up. We went to our destination and then tanked up with premium, After about 100km or so the engine felt different with a lot of pep.
I had a similar experience with a Cielo (no Premium those days, so used STP Injector Cleaner). In fact I poured in STP in my Carb Esteem, and within 50km could feel the punch there also. I have never used regular without an additive ever since. I normally use Premium.
I suggest you get the injectors cleaned out, or use an additive or use Premium petrol. You should see the difference.

Thanks for the advice guys..I have got the injectors cleaned in the service, details of which are mentioned above in the first post, around couple of weeks back only. I shall be checking with getting Indian oil extra mile this time.
Any pointers on the name of the additive which can be used for petrol? I know of System D which is used in my Indica but have never thought of the same for petrol car.

You can use a few OWS products if you are interested. There is a thred on it right here in the technical section.
Else, you could just use premium petrol from either Shell or one of the other PSU oil cos. and it will help your cause. If you continue to use normal unleaded petrol with an additive, beware of the pump you fill from as adulterated petrol even if used with an additive can lead to the same problems that you faced.

I suppose you could start with OWS Petrol/diesel treatment for a tankful to begin with . OWS fuel treatment's effect wears off after sometime and could be expensive to use for every tank ful (atleast for some of us !).
you could then shift to System G, this is for petrol. 1ml of every litre. it costs aboyt 300rs and you can get it from any big / company ownded HP Petrol station.
I have been using IOC ( normal petrol ) and System G and more than satisfied !
While you are at it, I would suggest you getting the compression checked from a MASS or a local garage.
My Versa has done 49500 km . I have been using Unleaded petrol from the most trusted BPCL bunk here for the last 5k kms;earlier I was using SPEED from the same outlet.
I have cleaned the throttle body at 35000kms but have never bothered about the injectors.
Engine Oil is repalced every 9000-10000 kms and gear oil every 20000 kms.
FE is approx 13-13.5 kmpl in a 40:60 mix of semi highway and city type drive with ac on most of the time.
Air Filter is still stock while plugs were changed at 46000 km.
For the last approx 10000kms,I have been observing that the car does great without AC but suffers a big drop in pick up with AC.I need to switch off the AC for quick overtaking since the road I travel is dividerless and quick responses are needed to overtake. With AC on,the car also suffers minor jerks when moved on second gear after navigating a speed breaker.Once it builds up speed, there is no problem.
There is no issue with the AC or its belt.
Any idea why this is happening?Any solutions?
