Tight clutch in Alto

Guys;

My other car Alto (covered around 14 K kms) and mostly driven by drivers has suddenly developed very tight clutch. Acceleration is also not even and rise is bumpy too. Lots of rattling noise too.

Please suggest as what needs to be done. What's the average life of clutch? What should I do to make sure that clutch is OK/Not OK before going to service station. What would be the approx. cost of clutch overhaul / replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Is your clutch "really" tight or is it slipping ?

If it's tight, then you need the adjust the clutch play.

14k kms is too early to even think of clutch replacement, IMO. (Under normal conditions)

Did you get it serviced at MASS? What was their suggestion?

The symptoms point to slipping clutch/warped disc, The problem can be something simple like clutch cable adjustment if alto has a cable or it can be the release bearing or even clutch plate which may have worn out.

And as mentioned in the above posts 14k is way too early for a clutch to wear out under normal driving conditions.

Try adjusting the cable, check if its broken anywhere and hence become hard and if nothing works i am sorry to say u ll have to replace the clutch assembly !

Its too early for the clutch wear. As suggested try adjusting the play.

All the drivers are not skilled ones. Advice your drivers to keep away from clutch when running. That a very bad habit everyone does.
