I've sprayed in my car many times, but its hard work to get it at the right place. Also, it doesn't last too long.

I had some left over, castrol GTX magnetec - its normally more useful. but its VERY hard to get it at such a remote place.

I think there are a couple of them at least, but I never looked carefully to see if they were loosening!

Nothing ever actually came off so its safe :)

lol: That's a very dangerous answer.

I will check the spots I spray on and see if there is anything to be careful of.

Is it advisable to spray and then grease on top?

If the noise stops! good!

If it comes back, then next time you might want to try grease too, I've never tried, but sounds like a good idea.

WagonR is a tall car, still I find it hard to get the spray to the cable, i.e. behind the pedal's top. You might have a harder time :)

I'm sure going to have trouble getting under the console of the OHC with my 6.1" frame :D

OT: Is it advisable to change the springs at any point in time as a precautionary measure? We always talk of changing various parts of the clutch but never heard of changing the springs!

No!

Its like say door hinge springs! Neither are they critical nor do they break!

Dude you will need a can of WD40 or Zorik 88. and spray it on the springs and hinges on the cable.

You are my Car God. I got myself a Wd-40 (small size) for 54 bucks,sprayed it
on the clutch spring a couple of times and Hey Presto !! the squeaks are gone.

I had even tried to put some oil on it by using a "Eye Dropper" earlier.Had a tough time trying to reach the spring.I did managed to get oil on the springs but the squeaks didn't go away.Finally gave up and decided to buy the Wd-40.

had same problem with my Esteem , sprayed WD40 just above the CLUTCH PEDAL , where there is a THICK SPRING mounted to a mounting and holds the clutch pedal .
after that no more squeaks

Of late I have been experiencing the same problem with my Alto. The squeaking sound though comes only if the ignition is on, and typically as you engage the first gear or reverse gear. About two weeks back went to the MASS. But with the workshop sound all around, they could not hear any, and applied some lubes in the springs. But today, I faced a serious problem. While coming home through a lane after around 80 KMS of drive through city traffic, shifting to 2nd and 1st frequently, the clutch seemed to be half stuck. Also, sudden jerks came, like the one as a beginner you face while releasing the clutch. It was eerie. What can it be? Clutch springs or something else? It seemed a little bit of burning smell came. There is no hardness in the clutch. My car is having 1 more month of it's warranty left. Please help with your suggestions.please:
