Hi,
I have this wierd problem of this squeaking sound whenever i press the clutch. It doesn't feel smooth either, it's as if there is some kind of obstruction (for the lack of a better word to use) ... any idea what has to be done?
thanks,
s
what car do u drive dude
drive a baleno ... and she is fairly new too ... less than 2 months old
Possibly a hard clutch cable, and since you say your car is 2 months old this really shouldnt be the case. Id recommend you take it back to the dealership you got it from and get it checked there. Theyll probably lubricate the cable first, if the sound crops up again im sure you can claim replacement of the faulty part under warranty.
if she is under 2 months old, no need to worry, everything would be taken care of at the dealership.
btw, where is aseem, see baleno too has problems....just kidding...:D
Hey, This one could be Suzuki Baleno not MB. Again just kidding lol:
Sorry, satan_crazy.
right .. check it out quick ..
I had a similar sound (in an Indica Petrol) .. but it lasted only 5 mins .. after which the cable snapped .. had to push to car for 15 minutes to the nearest roadside garage to get it replaced ..
Incidentally since then , the revv threshold seems to have changed ..
I mean the car used to go comfortably in 3rd between 20-25 kmph .. now I need to keep it above 30 .. same for all the gears ..
Any pointers to whether the problem could be related to the new clutch cable ?
Do you hear this sound even when car is not started. If yes then the dealership will put oil on the clutch "hinge" and maybe oil the cable. Oiling the clutche hinge and spring is okay, but if they say they will have to oil the cable, tell them you want a replacement. 2 month old car;s cable should not have to be oiled unless defective.

Strange ... I didn't know if the rev threshold could change by replacing the clutch cable

Neither did I .. I was just wondering if there could be a link between the two ..
The knocking has reduced somewhat since yesterday .. but I'm still needing higher revvs than earlier to shift up ..
In my indica this problem came as the grease in the springs had gone bad. The just greased the springs and the sound went away. If rainwater enters the car and washes away the grease this sound will come, but in such a case that will be the last of your worries.
sure its not ur shoes ;)
ok, showed the problem (the sound was irritating me big time) to the manager at the service center ... he said that the shaft has to be polished ... they'll remove the gear box, polish the shaft and put the gear box back.
am kinda skeptical about the removing and putting back part (don't want it to end up with a bigger problem).do you think i should just let it be as it is and deal with it during the next servicing?
