It rolls down just like that or when you give it a push? Always use handbrake when you park; slope or not! Start the car and then release the brake. Make this a habit.

It should just roll back a foot or two and then stop;after all it is in gear.

Also how steep isthe climb??

To determine park this on a flat surface & engage 1st gear & push gently. Normally it will not roll. if it does not may be the slope is too steep. Use hand brake.

if your vehicle is in gear, it should not roll, check if gear is engaged properly or else it must be in neutral

the front tyres skid and rear ones roll (without handbrake and 1st gear engaged) - aint you supposed to engage Reverse gear when you park on a slope with the car facing the top of the slope?

nope the wheels would still skid if they are skidding in 1st gear, instead the car should face downhill with reverse engaged in really steep slopes

a) Use hand brake
b) How much of roll. Is it a small jerk and then stop or not at all holding?
c) What is this uphill? Major gradient? Vehicle facing which side?

I ususlly use the Hand brake , however when I don't, I see that the cars starts rolling when parked in 1st gear and also when I use Reverse gear !!!
The car is facing uphill and the gradient is not very steep .When I engege the 1st or reverse gear and turn off the engine in a gradient the car rolls back a bit then pauses slightly then rolls and pauses and then rolls again ...this stop- roll-stop-roll continues till I apply the handbrake !!!

Please practice the use of hand brakes, whether uphill/downhill/ plain roads. A rolling car can cause accidents so don't forget to engage your hand brakes
