Half clutching !!!

Its always read that its not good to put feet on clutch while driving. But franky speaking in gear 1 and 2, feet need to use both clutch and accelerator in combo , else the vehicle stalls and very low speeds. how do people manage without controlled clutch press.

Or is it that people use cluctch only to change gears and never at any other time ! I think i am finding it tough .... any inputs ...
