Figo's screeching sound (and some other problems) solved!

Today I have been to Ford service center and was going around the garage as my car was serviced.

Then I found out a TSB (technical service bulletin) in their notice board:

It has detailed explanation on how to solve:
  1. screeching sound from rear left
  2. windows rolling down problem
  3. horn problem

Apparently the screeching sound is due to some plastic/metallic clips on the roof. These are to be cut to allow the plastic locks to lock properly. There is proper diagram on how to solve the issue too, I have asked the SA to send me the mail of all three issues for which he agreed, will post them here once i Recieve them!

SO Figo owners rush to your ford dealer if you still have above listed problems!!

So sweet, no? In fact they have put this on the notice board also. Good to see that they are willing to solve the problem.

And not all the cars have the above problem, I think it is a few earlier batches I guess!

Neither do I!

I had a few screeching noises but they are due to an accident my car met with!

While it is sad that this missed the quality control (apparently some problem with fitting the metal locks into the slots properly so that they get locked ) so the screeching sound and windows rolling down problem is due to improper fitments.

The horn problem I never heard about on the forum, so cannot comment!

Hi Anil

Do post a link (or create a write up with pics here itself) to the detailed description n pics of the diagram for the screeching sound. Would love to get that sound out of my cabin once in for all. It's so irrritttaaatttiiiinnnggggg

I am facing another issue. At a certain RPM say arnd 1300, there is a kind of vibration from the left hand side in the cabin. Seems like it starts from the engine and travels all the way to the back. Any such issue being faced by any owner ? I own a diesel figo.

Diesel lover, I am not sure if we can do that procedure at home but will try and post it here. And regarding the vibrations at low rpm may be due to wrong gear, if you are sure you are in the right gear then do take it to the service center.

The figo service manual has info on how to deal with vibrations if any!

TSB is a circular sent to all dealers. & no they usually will not admit the fault to the customer. Only if its safety critical they will do a recall.
