I need some information on the two terminologies.

The Fiat 1.4 FIRE petrol (normal 90 PS), also called the 1.4 SAFIRE by Tata is heavily promoted by tata as having these two techical terminologies:While I do get that CVCP is something to do with similar to VVT tech. But how is it different from Variable Valve timing tech?
And secondly, what really is intelligent port resizer?

Expert advices needed.

Variable valve timing (probably similar to Toyota's implementation in the way that both technologies have continuous variation as opposed to something like Honda's VTEC which is either on or off) and Variable length/diameter intake/exhaust

I guess these are already discussed

These are for Honda's but still...

@argee: You mean CVCP (Continuous Variable Cam phaser) is same as Variable Valve Timing technology?

sid quoting from an older post of yours made here.

Quote:

The drive refinement of the Indigo MANZA stems from the internationally-acclaimed 90 hp Quadrajet Diesel and Safire Petrol engines, sourced from Fiat. The petrol engines are configured using a Continuous Variable Cam Phaser, which smartly adjusts valve timings and intervals for power delivery. In addition, the electronically controlled Intelligent Port Resizer (IPR) function in the Safire engine delivers a perfect balance of power and economy. The Quadrajet diesel engine features a Variable Geometry Turbocharger for smoother running and an aluminum bedplate along with superior insulation that reduces NVH levels while delivering a superior power to weight ratio. The Drive by Wire technology virtually eliminates all “throttle lag” leading to a faster, smoother response.

CVCP is nothing but a toyota style VVT.

The Vista website clearly mentions -->

Engine Type: Twin Cam Variable Valve Timing Technology.

I still doubt that CVCP is same as VVT. Than how can Hyundai claim "first in class VTVT tech" for its i10 when the vista 1.2 safire also competes with it in the same price tag? I think that some functioning is different.

But what rjstyles quoted my post is also written in the brochure.

What I want to know is what exactly the Intelligent Port resizer thingy? The technical guys at Tata are clueless about it.

Hmm...that's sounds like Hyundai's problem.

BTW, wasn't the Jazz first in 1.2 L segment to offer variable valve timing?
