Android based Engine Perfomance/Diagnostic Tool

Hi Techies,

Need some intel on what is shared in this link.

Torque - Android app on AppBrain

Troque is an Android based engine perfromance/diagnostic tool that can be installed on any android cellphone.

The link says that the phone can connect to the engine ECU and the application shows engine parameters and also has engine logging.

Was thinking - can this be of real help for us to know whats going on under the hood?

Please read the details in the link and post your expert comments.

Also, if you can help with some details on how this can help the cellphone connect to the ECU, it will be of good help.

Cheers!

This is of course a great piece of app. As per the app page, the connection to ECU is done through Bluetooth. For that you need a Bluetooth OBD controller. Or else, a serial OBD controller with a serial to Bluetooth adapter will also do.
