hi guys i want to buy 3m double sided tape in pune.

dose any one know where i can buy original 3m scotch double sided tape?

i want it for DIY repair of bolero body-cladding.

Try any one of the numerous stationery / packing material shops in Ravivar Peth or Bohri Alee (lane). Another place you could try is Carax Auto Accessories store (http://www.carax.in/) - they are authorized dealers for 3M products.

well i have normal double sided tape but its not good enough for body cladding.

that's why t want 3m's scotch brand tape.

the accessories shop charge 200 for sticking single piece of cladding . (its around 2 ft)

i think the full tape it self costs around 300 bucks, tight?

What a coincidence! Just yesterday I bought a roll of 3M tape to stick the same claddings on my Bolero.
Here in Bangalore, 3M double side sticker costs 250 bucks (the bigger roll).

I have seen 3M double side tape rolls in hardware stores here. Check out similar places there.

Hi Jeepster,

If you want only 3M Ask for VHB 4956(0.5mm thick ) or 4922(1mm), both are available from 6 mm to 25 mm in width, for your usage 8 mm is sufficient, for proper bonding u have to buy scotch VHB primer, you can try with a Aluminium structural glazing contractors are Glass dealers,

@Viji, why is the primer required ? And will affect / damage the paint when you are taking it off ?

Primer gives extra adhesive power to the tape. and it is not a paint primer its a special chemicle they call it as primer. paint part i don't know because we use this to stick glass to aluminium sections and all our sections are anodized and we normally avoid sticking the glass to painted surface.

yes that's the one i was talking about.
it costs 200 to fix single piece of the cladding here & the whole tape it self costs 250. (think about the profit)

my city is not big enough to have stores who stock such branded products.
but i will check there any way.
other wise ii will have to get it from pune. (350km away)

i only knew that its 3m scotch tape but not the exact number. (there was no number on tape i had seen)
i will try to get the VHB primer too.
