Whether RTV paste can replace gasket completely?

I have old lancer, and i need to flush with ABRO, in the can it is said to remove oil pan after flush in case of old cars, so i need to remove the oil pan after flush, but as i enquired in coimbatore, gasket packing for lancer oil sump is not available.

Shall i use RTV paste or any other sort to replace gasket, in case the old gasket damaged during removal, before removing i need to confirm from Tbhpians, though googling and browsing Tbhp, i came after several replies that it can replaced completely with gasket maker, some say it should be used with gaskets as additional safety, i am confused now.

Yes. Remove pan, clean the surface very thoroughly. Apply a moderately think layer. Let it harden for 2-4 hours. Then put the pan on carefully.

Or leave the sump intact and further clean up the internals using 2 rounds of flushing oil. Removing the pan and cleaning alone will not help that much anyways.

but i have only one can of Abro flush, the direction in can, says, 'remove oil pan and clean is advised, in case of engine with high mileage/excessive wear.

I am adding liqui moly 'CERATEC' with mobil delvac MX after flushing, so i need to make sure the engine is clean to get nano ceramic particles do their work on deformed metal. That is the reason i am flushing.

also clean the oil strainer, if possible replace.

aren't you getting the original gasket for the sump. ?

the original or replacement gasket for sump is not available in coimbatore, i have enquired, that is the reason i am thinking of replacing gasket with RTV paste 100%.

Replacing oil stainer would be costly, also i am suspicious about its availability, since it is non fast moving part.

use loctite then. Its a reputed manufacturer. i have used it extensively.

Thank you for your help, i shall try to get loctite, i dont think i will get ABRO in coimbatore. So i will hunt for loctite, if not last chance is Anabond RTV paste.

I think use it as a repair filling for gasket. Nothing replces the OEM gaskets durability, otherwise it would have got extinct.
