A cut wire in my Punto. Safe to drive?

Hi,

If mods feel appropriate then they can move it to different section. After my chennai trip I saw a tube/wire dangling over the rear right tyre. Initially I though that I would be some tube/wire which might have got loose and hence kept driving. But after reaching home I had a close look at it. And it turned out that it was a tube which had got cut into two. Find the pics attached.

This is the tube which is hanging.

See where it is coming from.

One more view. See where it is coming from.

Any ideas what this can be? Its not rear brake wiring. I checked. The reversing lights are also working.
Is it something which I can drive around with for some time? Or needs immediate attention?

I had got the rear end almost totally taken apart by the Concorde Diary circle when they were trying to sort out the rear suspension noise. Is it possible that they were not able to put it back together properly?

Looks like the breather pipe of the fuel tank. However I would get it checked asap.

Re: A cut wire in my Punto. Safe to drive?

*EDIT*

Took the car to the Concorde Dairy Circle. Turns out that this is a kind of drain pipe. One end of it (the one with a clean round cut) is fixed near the fuel cap. The other end (the jagged slant cut) goes down near the suspension. Somehow this pipe on both the ends came out.

The use of this pipe seems to "Collect the spilled fuel while filling time and drain it to ground below safely."

I will post more pics once I reach the home.

Not sure if yours is GP, but I had similar pipe like thing hanging out at the exact same location in my GP. B.U.B fixed it during 1st service.

They did not replace it. Just plugged it back in the rubber casing around the fuel inlet cap.
