Also ask for the waiting period. In my experience I've seen that ZDI has a bigger waiting period. But I would suggest do not skimp on the safety features. ABS is a boon considering the weight of the diesel engine.
I have been experiencing this from the time i have bought the car, i can feel vibrations from the front right wheel on the steering wheel and it seems that the Tyres are rubbing against the wheel well. But when i check for the same, there are no marks either on tyre or on the wheel well.
Is anyone facing the same problem? anyone can give some light as to what might be happening actually.
The car has completed 6k kms since i bought her in May this year.
How much should a full painting of the swift cost? I have a 5 year old swift which needed a full dent& paint job. The denting part is not much just basically scratches . Thanks in advance.

It would cost 30-35 k . I remember asking just to refresh the mild dulling of sunlight copper color.

Welcome Abhi and great to see your first post in Swift thread.
Go for ZDI if you want all security features as ABS, Airbags and better breaks |

Thank you devil_klm & bharat4ever. Booked a ZDi today at Marketing Times, Delhi. Waiting time quoted 8-10 weeks, however, I have told that I want a 2013 manufactured car only and delivery will be taken towards end of January.
Now another question which I am hoping someone can answer. The registration number I want for the ride is not even close to the series currently allotted to Marketing. The sales manager asked me to go to RTO near Model Town/Tis Hazari to get the registration number I want. Has anyone here done this and can give me some advice..?? Also what damage can I anticipate for my pocket in this regards.
Thanks to T-Bhp for making this deciding process an easy one. After reading through multiple threads and numerous posts, the showroom guys where amazed at the questions I threw at them.
PS - The owner of the showroom was ready to give Swift ZDi 2012 on Dhanteras, A Dezire ZDi today itself and Ritz VDi ABS within a week.
Guys ive booked one 3 weeks ago and im waiting to get my hands on it as quickly as i can, we need to watch out for any extra tax that could hit the diesel cars in the next budget

This is what was in the news.

However, whether same has been implemented or no needs to be ascertained.

Connectivity of OEM HU to an amp needs to be checked with an ICE guru. |
The OEM HU does not have pre-out but it is no big deal. There are lots of amps which take high level inputs or worst you can use a hi-to-low converter like me. The OEM unit is pretty good. With an amp,sub and better front comps, the sound quality improves a lot.
My Swift ZDI has completed 6500 kms now. Second service was done at MSM at no cost. Did wheel alignment and balancing outside. For the first time, I took the vehicle for a real long drive to Bangalore and back. Did 120-130kmph for most parts and tried 145 for a very short open stretch. It was such fun driving the car with its MJD engine and the handling assisted by superbly tuned suspension and a perfectly weighted steering. The car returned a mileage of 18.3 kmpl for the 700km trips with such high speed. The MID showed a mileage of 19.3 kmpl. I run on 195/60 R15 tyres and perhaps the MID is calibrated for 185 sections.
Only sore point was the pathetic boot space. The rear seats are an improvement over the old swift. Yoko A-Drives on my car were pretty good on the highways as well.
I got a feedback call from MASS and SE told there is a free checkup and body wash on this Sunday. Is good to go for this?

Take it. They will atleast wash the car, clean the filter, check the fluid levels. If you have time & there is NOT a whole distance to travel.

I personally don't take these free check-up/wash camps due to the following reasons:
Due to a large number of vehicles turning up for the camp, the service advisor cannot pay individual attention to your car.
The washing bit is a joke, because it's usually a half-baked job due to the sheer number of vehicles they have to wash.
Finally, this top-up is hardly needed if you've been servicing your vehicle on schedule. Just open the bonnet and visually check all the fluids and I'm sure 99.9% of the time the fluid levels will be right up to mark.
You as a customer will find it hard to question the quality of service because it's free! I would rather pay and demand quality service if you know what I mean.
Based on all these points mentioned above, your "free" service experience will usually be a bit of a compromise. I personally follow a golden rule: if all works well in your car, then just let it be! :)
I have a very sincere SA in my MASS. Every time I go for service I make sure he's on shift to personally attend my car. He was the one who suggested that I don't take these free camps due to the above mentioned reasons.
I went for the free checkup and it was an utter waste of time. Car came after washing with wet floor mat inside, Washing was not at all good and not sure if they have top up fluids or not.
My car is 6 months old and completed 7300 Kms now. It is rattling very badly on uneven surfaces. Car is butter smooth on good roads and highways. Rattling started after first service( Exactly after a trip to chikamangalore where we climbed some hills and all roads were in bad condition). During second service i have mentioned this. An other complaint was ACC taking air from outside even if the internal circulation mode is on. MASS has refitted the whole ACC unit to solve the second issue and refitted front tweeter to solve first. No sounds for a couple of days and it started again badly with center console rattling noise. Checked with one of my friend and he too has this issue. Any bhpian facing the same? Some one has reported a steering rattling and replacement of steering assembly. Was that for a particular batch?
I am not able to reproduce this while stand still and to find from where exactly it is coming.

Yes it is new gen. And i checked with friends who has new swift. As GTO mentioned the build quality is good for lower variants and not up to mark for higher. And the worst part is it is not coming every time and i was not able to reproduce it when i went to MASS.
