To be honest, No.

I saw the demo car post the launch and checked the boot from a day-to-day utility perspective and found it sufficient. I don't plan to move the house using the car anyway. The boot is sufficient for a family's luggage and more than enough for day to day errands.
+1 to this. This is exactly why I was fine with the Dzire boot

Re: Maruti Dzire Zdi Initial Ownership review

Thanks a lot for the pictures, particularly those of the boot. Would it be possible to load the boot with 2 suitcases and a bag/backpack and post a picture? Most people have a concern around the boot space of the DZire and a photo showing how much can be crammed into the boot will be very helpful.

Congratulations on getting the Dzire ZDi. I think this is the perfect car for Indian families. I would have already booked one, but for the fact that the undercover parking at my flat has only 2 inches on either side after I park my current car (Santro) and I will surely scrape the paint off, if I try fitting the Dzire into it.

Thanks again guys.

I have completed 950km and the first service is scheduled for Saturday 31st March. I plan to change the oil. Please suggest if there is anything specific that I should lookout for during first service.

I will update this thread on Saturday with service experience.

This is the advantage of the buying a maruti, most of the time they will do things only that are needed during the service .
They will do the engine oil change by default, you need not ask them.

Cheers

Nothing for free if you are a Swift /Dzire customer. Only thing free in the showroom was glass of water and a cup of tea.
totally agree! i tried hard to get 350 bucks mud flaps atleast but was refused!!

i got a quote for 16k for 0 dep insurance from royal sundram. The dealer was quoting 25k for the same!! when i mentioned the RSA quote, the dealer agreed to provide for 17k the kind of margins they make

Adi, have you got sun films done? if yes, which ones and how much did it cost you

I see that the meters now have a yellow backlight! And what's the prominent color on the console once you switch ON the parking lights? Mind sharing a good quality pic of interior illumination in the night?

The dealer didn't even try to match the rates in my case and straight away asked to get the insurance done from outside.

I have installed 3M RE50. I am quite happy with the performance. The cost was Rs.4000/- . This was done from outside.

I will try and post the pics in a couple of days.

1st Service Update:

Total cost : Rs.15/- that too for windshield washer fluid. The SA suggested a MGP fluid instead of regular shampoo. As it was not too costly I decided to try it out.

The service experience was very good. The SA checked the car neatly and noted down a complaint - the front left door knob was not fitted properly (check the pictures in the previous post).

The problem was fixed, car checked and washed and delivered in around 2 hours.

The car comes with synthetic oil and the SA suggested not to change oil. The SA said had it been regular oil, he himself would have suggested an oil change but it is absolutely not required in my case. The oil change interval is 10K KMs. I am still in two minds if I should change the oil. An oil change will cost around 2.7k. Suggestions welcome

Thanks! Agree about the profile but I have got used to it now doesn't feel weird anymore.

Too early for the mileage but the initial tank full returned 18.5 KMPL and guaging by the fuel gauge and kms done should be around same figure. The MID shows 17.5 throughout.

10k kms is just fine, i also changed the Manza synthetic oil at 10k, dont worry about that

I think placing two suitcases on top of eachother would be possible only in the center as the boot hinges will get obstructed when closing if the cases are placed on the side.

Oh by the way Congrats!!! on the Dzire
