Well, nothing can beat a sedan when it comes to handling but the Scorpio is not a benchmark in SUV handling standards as well. Why don't you take a test drive of the Duster and the XUV 5oo and check things out. I m sure you d be in a better position to take a decision then.

By the way since you are from Hosur you did not buy it in TN the road tax might have been less?
There was a long waiting period for TN Scorpio (Especially White). More over the sales response from SKS was not that satisfactory which made me think of their service support too.

Funny part was SKS offered me a Java Brown SLe version, where I got to know from Sireesh that Java Brown is available only in Vlx variant.

Again most of my drives are towards Bangalore, also got a decent deal with Sireesh hence picked up KA registered. Also Iam happy with their Service.

Re: Hira - My Mahindra Scorpio 2.2 MHawk SLE (8 Seater)

My Hira had done 9500 kms as on 28-08-2012. Called up Sireesh and fixed an appointment for Second Service.

Few complaints reported were -

1) A very slight vibration noise from Instrument Panel (Continued right from First service)
2) Break Pedal and hand Break level adjustments
3) Felt Clutch was harder than before and suggested them to have a look

Only Transmission Oil (Synthetic Gear Oil 75 W 90) was replaced as part of the schedule in the Second service.

Optional works carried out were Engine and AC Motor Lubrication.

1) Engine Motocare (I guess the SC pray some kind of chemical which forms an oily layer and makes the engine bay look new), this will just stay good for few days and later the bay will be back to normal.

2) AC Neutralizer (A fragrant cleaner to remove foul odors and bacteria)

So how much did the Service Cost ? -
1) Transmission Oil – Rs. 630.56
2) Engine Motocare - Rs. .475.81 + labour – 120.00
3) AC Neutralizer - Rs.475.81 + labour – 120.00
4) Consumables – Rs.300
+
12% Service Tax + 2% Edu Cess + 1% High Edu Cess + VAT 14.50%.

The vehicle was delivered on promised Date/time. Well the service was quite satisfactory. After replacing Transmission oil Clutch is smooth. Break Pedal and hand Break levels were adjusted. coming to instrument panel vibration - issue still persists and they have promised to fix it in the next service.

I have drive close to 2000 kms after the Second Service and my White beauty is running just like a cake.
