Can you ask them to put a ribbon and arrange it like a new car delivery. It will feel like taking delivery all over again. Oh the joy.:D

Carlos Santana might disturb the planet alignment though

2 months wait time...wait thats not for my new booking..thats for changing wheels and painting my rear bumper....

you should take a box of sweet hand it over to them and build a relationship. Things that start sour usually have a bright future. The only direction this service can go is up.

Santana is coming tomorrow, no?
Get the car and promise them, you shall never visit them again.

I actually like the point Viddy made. Ask them to tie a ribbon. Just for cheap thrills sake, it would feel like getting the delivery of the car all over again :p.

@VW2010: You cant be serious! Sweets for such nincompoops?

I am actually serious. Post all this nonsense building a relation can definitely help in the long run. I am still expressing the gratitude that the car came back in 1 piece knowing the nonsense these nincompoops threw at Ajmat. Yet the box of sweet can be sarcastically good in the long run :)

Service manager rang me and told me the car was ready for release.

Total invoice was Rs 56000. I needed to pay Rs 4700 from my side. As Carlos Santana was around, I could only take delivery the next day.

Went to take delivery and got the parking tickets reimbursed in the process. Met an aggreived customer and this led to an interesting discussion that we had with the front line staff. We actually empathised with them and discussed the issues.

This ordeal has merited a totally new thread as it is time to share this experience with the larger community, not just people who were referecning Jettas. You will find this thread here

Hi,

I'm in the market looking for a new car and Jetta is one of the cars that fall in my price range (The lowest diesel variant). I am a little apprehensive about buying this due to the poor service. I took a test drive and found it not too comfortable to drive in Bangalore traffic but considering that I have many long distance trips planned, I still have this car on my priority list. I have a few questions I request you to answer:

1)As an owner, how is your experience in managing this car in Bangalore traffic especially the rush hours with all the bikers around(no offence to anyone)?
2)How hard do you struggle to maintain the look of the light interiors?
3) I read through your other thread about the service episode. How is the attitude of the Service centers these days? Haven't had a chance to speak to too many other owner.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the multiple posts but my post is not visible for me to edit.

Which dealership do you recommend to buy and which one to get this car serviced?

The Jetta went in for its first service to VW Palace Cross Rajajinagar

Although the service centre manager knows me, I had booked the car via the service desk since I wanted to ensure uniformity of service. I was 45 min late but there were no issues. The location is very convenient. Drive past old Citiy Station towards Rajajinagar. Near Sujatha Talkies, you will see a ramp towards Star Bazaar, take that and then an immediate left. As the road curves veer off towards Venus School, turn left and you see the service station.

There is plenty of place to park. Appointments are staggered to avoid too much waiting. Service advisor will review your car. In my case, he already knew the history and looks like I was flagged as a Team-bhp person. apart from routine service, I complained about the pathetic air conditioning as the annoying door rattle.

He then fetched the quality manager, who took my car for a drive and confirmed this. i was promised delivery during the next working day due to the door rattle problem. The service manager then completed the service ticket (that takes time ,even for Skoda! the systems are the same) and explained the service process. Meanwhile the Jetta was taken and raised on a ramp. We inspected underneath.

There are 14 bays. I saw no angry customers or customers waiting to be engaged unlike other places.

Getting back was so convenient. 5 min walk to the right of the service station, you climb some steps and the sujatha bus stop is there. Within 10 min, I was at KBA and in another 15 min, I was deposited near my home in the volvo.

I got a call in the evening confirming that service was completed but they needed to resolve the door. It looks like VW Downtown/Elite never realigned the door properly after the repair so that car could be collected on Monday at 5.

Took a Volvo to KBS, and caught a bus (platform 5, 6, 7) which dropped me at Sujatha talkies. The car was ready at 5 but they had put 40 km on it. Claims were that they needed to adjust - test etc. I was not charged for this, so I let it go (remember this is Elite Motors screw up)

The service bill came to Rs 12500. Rs 750 for lead weights was extortion but the overall parts and quality of service was good. Car has loosened up. The bill had some exotic terms added in. More on that in anthoer post.

The air conditioning is now very effective. The filter was filthy but the air conditioning is better than when I took delivery. It leads me to believe

1: VW put in a dud filter when new
2: VW Downtown put in a dud filter and took the old one out (having experienced their service, anything can be expected!)
3: The filter was okay from the start but some air conditioning components have been quietly replaced. Remember, my car did 40 km, perhaps it went to Hessarghatta for some replacement.

Grouses
- none except the final test drive saw the car being brutally stalled and some unsympathetic clutch use.

Overall, VW Palace Cross fixed the car's faults and I am extremely happy with the service quality.

Congratulations ajmat on buying the car. I think yours might be the only other Jetta highline MT apart from mine on the forum.

My Jetta Highline MT - Toffee Brown arrives on April 5th. Makes me the 3rd? :)

Hi Ajmat, hows the beast doing? :D

We recently had the White CL variant delivered an in absolute awe ever since.

Need a feedback:
Hows the air flow from the rear A/c vents?

Well, although the A/c is strong and quiet a chiller, the air flow from the rear a/c vents is very minimal. Is this a general characteristic, or do I need to have that checked as the car is only about 3 weeks old.

The beast is running well. I cannot complain. Car is sensitive to tyre pressures. If the fronts are not at 34psi, steering feels dead. Rear AC is not the best but is much better after the filter was change.

Okay, so am guessing this is normal for the jetta and you had a similar experience with the rear vents. :thumbs up

Interesting! What is the recommended tyre pressure by VW?

It is 34psi all round minimum

Last Saturday, on a rainy night en route to Whitefield, the ESP/ABS came on.

Groan!

Had dinner, started car, the light was off but it started flashing again in minutes. I checked the car on sunday for any loose wires but did not find any. Rang VW Palace Cross on Monday who arranged to collect the car on tuesday.

At the appointed time, the VW man came to pick up the car (I also noticed that he is equipped with a wireless credit card POS terminal). Later in the afternoon, I get a call that there is a problem with the rear passenger side sensor. After various tries in connecting and cleaning sensor, they informed me that they needed to retain the car overnight. the next day, they removed and refitted the wheel bearing (the sensor is integrated into this) but no joy.

VW were in the loop with the resolution process and it was decided to replace the part under warranty. This would take 5 days. A loaner car was sent to my place without asking (As a Team-BHP Mod - I am a marked man!) on Wednesday night.

Got a call on Saturday that the part had arrived and will be fitted on Monday. The car was delivered on Monday night, fully valeted and detailed.

All in all the resolution was well handled. I hope this will be typical for all customers and not just for me. If you do give your car in, I recommend Mr Naresh, the service advisor

My commute has changed from a 45min stop start commute to Marathahalli to a 25 min smooth run to Sarjapur outer ring road. For the same distance, my fuel consumption has come down from 11km/l to 17km/l
