Re: An Impulsive Decision: My VW Polo 1.6

That does not look too bad from whatever i can make out in the photo , might not be a home DIY job but i dont think it should be too difficult to take it off. Best of luck.

Congratulations, welcome to the 1.6 club.
Good to lean that you are located in Pune, from your post in the "recession again?" thread, it looks like you are from Merchant Navy but your handle is something opposite!
Sorry about the scratch (doesn't look deep), Wish you happy miles ahead.

Thanks, iSpoke. Always a pleasure to meet 1.6 owner. Well, I think you got me confused with someone else because I haven't posted so far in "recession again?" thread. The handle is a salute to an awesome machine from Nissan

Congratulations Skyliner....now this car will really make you fly like a jet
Just one question, did you ever consider fiesta classic 1.6 or was it too old compared to all these new launches?

Thanks for your wishes, amiya.c! I did not consider fiesta classic 1.6 because I was interested in hatchback only. Except the oldage model, fiesta is one fine machine! One of the cousins owns it and is one happy driver.

Re: An Impulsive Decision: My VW Polo 1.6

The car is back from it's second service on Saturday. SA did a fantastic job! He went extra mile to ensure that I am happy with the work done. Spark plugs were replaced as a standard procedure for second service. Usually brake pads are also supposed to be changed but SA said they are good for another 6k kms or so. Will get the brake pads changed after 5k kms. Total bill was 11,317/- which includes 1035/- for 3M interiors cleaning package. The scratches on back wheel arch were also polished off and I can say, job well done!

Here are couple of pictures of the same area after polishing:

Update:

Have sold my car and the new owner would be picking it up next weekend when I get my new set of wheels.

This car has served me very well and I would be missing the linear power delivery a lot. Loved revving it on an empty stretch of road. Absolutely no niggles during the whole owner period.

Good thing is that it going to my BIL so I would be able to drive it sometimes.

So one set of hot wheels is making for another "even bigger" set of hot wheels. I am sure they new car will not let you miss this one much. When is the delivery?

Thanks drmohitg.
Yes I hope the new car would keep me involved.

Delivery is on either 2nd or 4th depending on what I confirm to the SA. Car will arrive at dealership on 31st. Can't wait anymore to get my hands on the dream machine!
