Picking up a Kagu Maxpider set tomorrow.

Asked the dealer to check with Skoda for the OEM plastic boot dish costing 5k. Been 4 days without response. Assume Skoda is making one especially for me :-)

Picked up both:

I stumbled upon this recently. Might be useful for those who got their octys before the new features (mirrorlink, rvcam..). If anyone has already done this it might be useful to post it in the DIY section for others.

There's a bhpian who installed a nav and rv cam from
Vagtune. I've been interested in getting one of these since quite a long time but information about how they work is sparse even on the dealer's own website. Carsequipment has these for different VAG models and have posted some DIY YouTube videos as well, but no one provides a full tutorial on what parts, wires and tools are needed to avoid killing one's warranty.

At exactly 24 months the original VARTA battery in my TDI Octy dies without any warning. Surprised to see that it was a 60 AH one.

Now should I go for 74AH or stick to the OE specs? The back battery cover will only fit the 60AH.

Is it out of warranty? Haven't you gone for the Extended 2+2?
To add to it, how many owners have bought the Extended warranty? And at what price?

Thanks in advance.

I replaced the battery with a 65AH one from Exide. That's the biggest that'll fit in the Octy.

Battery warranty is only for a year. I think I got the extended warranty for ~22k.

I faced battery issue 1.5 years into ownership. The manual reads 1 year warranty on battery but it was replaced free of charge nonetheless. Guess skoda knows they had a problem battery in Varta.

I got mine changed at 1+ year under warranty. I was also a bit apprehensive but they changed it FOC w/o any questions asked. Yes they do like to keep the car for 2 days if you go for the warranty route.

P.S- Mine was a SeBang make. Now it's on Volkswagen's own.

Yup, they've moved to SeBang now. Extended warranty is either 23 or 24k here in BLR from ICICI Lombard. Price goes up after 90 days of purchase to the next slab.

Thanks Haren. which dealer was it? Unsure why both are playing so coy about this now.

Hell, am waiting to pay ready money for a high-margin accessory and they aren't bothered. And Mr. Sudhir Rao wonders why Skoda is not increasing market share :-(

I've had the same experience with my order for accessories- it just didn't arrive even though it's almost ten months since it was ordered. I even mentioned this to the Skoda rep but there was no interest.

I find it strange since I believe it's a great revenue and margin generator on both products and installation service, especially since I see so many who have gone to other vendors simply because accessories aren't available directly through Skoda!

Can everyone on the forum tell their exact mileage in the Octy till date?

Car refused to start after being parked for an hour outside a restaurant.

Error: Electronic Stabilisation Control flashed on the dash.

Lights, windows, and info system were working fine. Exide guy came in no time to check the battery to find it not to be the problem.

Thankfully, my Roadside service package expires later this month and so the car was taken to the workshop.

A workshop representative has been in contact with me and it was only until yesterday had they found out what was wrong with the car. Something about a "mechanotronic" failure. Too bad the car is fresh out of warranty :( .

I feel so helpless. The car was running like a dream all along when all of a sudden it just gave up. I don't know what what kind of bill figures to expect.

Will keep you all posted.

If it is indeed the mechatronic, Then your DSG has given up. Should be covered for free under warranty/goodwill though.
