Did you get that done from Stanley ? If so, how much did you shell out ?
Most of my driving in city is in bumper to bumper traffic only (by dirty peak traffic - I meant very congested roads and gullies). So I am not expecting 9.5 to go down much. But then this is mostly with a light right foot. After the run in I am sure the VTEC will tempt me too push it harder and compensate for the FE :)
Leather costed me 45 k incl tax. It's come out very well!

wow, thats something new to me!
i really never saw this thing in any of cars i drove till that!
i m really unaware of such a seemingly-fantastic thing!
can you please post a pic of these vents?
as you have mentioned in some of your earlier post that you'll pos the pic of ANY part, anybody asks for, so can you please show me its pics?
thanks in advance.
P.S.: and how can the airflow be directed/controlled to these vents?

Spoke to Honda they said it can be delayed by a max of 1 week.
What to do?
My busy schedule does not allow me to drive at a higher rate as of now...
Moreover I am also using my earlier car in peak dirty traffic situation. |
Just give it once the odo is closer to 1000kms. They always say send the car in due time etc but till date i have never sent the car until it hits the desired kms or i find the need to for other reasons.
Dont expect much from this 1000kms service. They do almost nothing, just a check up to see if everythings working fine and fitted well from the factory.

I do not agree. Once the terms are 1 month or 1k km, whichever is earlier, you MUST follow since you risk voiding your warranty if you do not. Read the warranty terms - they have every right to void warranty if car has not been serviced according to schedule or given to unauthorised dealer/person to open/repair.
Even if it is just a check to see everything is alright, it is required to be done, just in case something is wrong - e.g. a wrong engine setting if run for 6 months/5k km will create major problems down the line and if correctly set at 300km, will help in the next 700km.
Thanks friends,
I am giving it for servicing tomorrow at some 500+ kms only.
The free service lapses if I do not get it done within a month + a week (extention).
Congratulations on the good buy ST. You surely got yourself a good set of wheels. I was going through a supplement that came with this week's Business World.
They have rated the CIVIC much above the existing COROLLA.
Actually they were comparing the cars from TOYOTA and HONDA in both categories...
i.e. ACCORD/CAMRY and CIVIC/COROLLA.
The CIVIC (as per them and many others) is anyday a better buy than COROLLA and definitely better priced than the RS.
As for the new CAMRY, the looks are awesome and the engine is good, but I believe (and they seem tto agree with me ;) that it cant beat the 3.0 VTEC ACCORD. PLUS the new CAMRY is a neat 6 LACS costlier than the ACCORD. Any thoughts guys?
CONGRATS ST once again. BTW, where did u get the leather job done from? 45K for what all?
45k for standard nappa leather package. It includes only seats, door pads, and center armrests. And including 12.5% tax!
Will post photos in sometime.

Hey, this happened to a friend of mine as well when he bought an Opel Sail. From memory, the Petrol Bunk was also an HP Bunk but on JC Road, Bangalore. The modus operandi was... One of the attendant distracts you by enquiring about the car and complimenting him on the purchase etc, while the other starts filling without resetting it to zero. The car took more fuel than what the company claimed its fuel tank capacity to be.
Luckily, I was alert and got even with them by telling them that the fuelpump meter started with 10 although it started with 4:Cheering: thereby getting my friend atleast 5 litres for free.
And congrats on your car. Drive safe and like many others said keep your civic revving below 3k RPM for the first 2000km(irrespective of what the owners manual or dealer might say).
Congrats on the purchase mate! good on ya!
Wish Civic came with a "changeable" audio system! :)
my advise, put some nice fat rubbers to it!

Of course it can be changed -
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3534 - only not too sure here whether Honda will allow the parts to be available to do it. Hopefully, some of the aftermarket audio specialists will import the necessary parts.
Not more than 205s and ensure dealer is 'in on it' to avoid warranty issues. I have heard of front suspension clunks and problems and no point in paying for something not your fault just because you changed tyres.
Ok, my first gripe with the car...
With full load the car does scrap a badly designed speed breaker :(
What do I need to do to save my underbelly?
Rest all is too good, I am loving it :)
Wow St.
That was an excellent report ! color is so tempting. Congrats!
Pics were great. I am fallin' in love... :-D
Btw, as every 1 has requested do post some pictures of interiors. Hope your car is back from 1st service. how many zero's were dere in the bill?
Enjoy your ride...
Cheers,
Jai
