Thank you, I would advice you to go for the Endeavor or wait for the new Fortuner. The present Fortuner is not worth it right now. Regarding the AT I have been driving manual transmission vehicles from the last 25 years and this is my first AT. Hardly 1 month since I am driving it I drove my wife's Honda city diesel manual 2 days back and had a really though time for the first 5 minutes. Nothing can beat the ease and comfort of an AT.

Dockap some more queries regarding the HUD:

1. In video clip you uploaded, it seems to be too bright for the night view, doesn't it affects the night driving pleasure?
2. Is there any switch to control the brightness?
3. I stumbled upon the exact model of yours but with different make on Aliexpress (pic attached below), does that make any difference?Dark Knight: My Panther Black Ford Endeavour 3.2L Titanium 4x4-imageuploadedbyteambhp1460261785.046734.jpg, it is around 2.5 grands cheaper.
4. My cellphone based HUDs show dual blurred image on windscreen, is it the case so in endeavour windscreen too.
5. Wont it be convenient enough if the connector be at bottom rather then one on the sides of HUD, will keep it firm and neatly installed?

Will be grateful for your reply.

Re: Dark Knight: My Panther Black Ford Endeavour 3.2L Titanium 4x4

Congratulations on your new purchase. It's such a beautiful car and black color is taking it to another level. Wanted to know how much Road Tax is there in Mangalore? 5.7L road tax is quite high in my opinion. Wish you many happy and safe miles.

Regards

It is the same HUD. I brought in on E-bay so i paid more.
The HUD is designed for LHD cars that is why the wire is on the opposite side. There is a On off switch and built in light sensor which will automatically control the brightness depending on the ambient light. You can also set the brightness manually from the setting options. The HUD comes with a small reflective sticker to paste on the windscreen which prevents blurring of the display.

Road tax in KA for vehicles with ex-showroom price above 20 lakhs is 18% add another 11% Cess on that 18% life time road tax comes to around 20% of ex-showroom price. Link below

Re: Dark Knight: My Panther Black Ford Endeavour 3.2L Titanium 4x4

Congratulations one again dockap and that's a detailed observation you have penned down.Rated 5 stars.
"Dark knight" puts a smile on my face as the name was suggested by me, if you remember

Please keep updating your ownership thread regularly so that it inspires people like us.
Keep us posted regarding cooling coil water condensation, definitely not normal (will lead to water stains and rusting)
I think the problem is inadequate insulation around the pipes

Happy mile crunching with dark knight

Eagerly waiting for the all black interiors from Ford

Congrats on your purchase!
Hardly see any Endys in NCR due to the Diesel vehicle ban, but on a recent trip to Punjab saw multiple Endys free willing on the highways The SUV is just enormous, puts all other 'SUVS' to shame.

Congrats doc!

Am still sitting on the fence whether to pick this up or wait some more. Currently at a 98,000 km swift diesel.

Test drove this just yesterday. Hope you keep the details coming.

Cheers!

Hey dockap, How is the endy going? Have you faced any rattle in the kind from anywhere? Also have you tried using the auto parking system? Any comments on that?

Re: Dark Knight: My Panther Black Ford Endeavour 3.2L Titanium 4x4

Congratulations! Endy is a heck of car and a definite option for anyone in the market for a fullsize SUV.

However, while making the decision to get this beast home, did you compare the after sales service and maintenance costs? How does Endeavour stack up against its arch nemesis - Fortuner?

I bought a HUD unit off Aliexpress, and my comments as below:

The image on the windscreen is indeed a dual image. I believe this can be rectified by using the reflective sticker proivided with the unit to attach on the windscreen.

On the unit i bought, the connector is at the bottom, which allows the unit to appear free of any connections on the sides.
