What a fascinating project Karan! Many congratulations for the car as well as the successful engine and transmission swap clap:. Glad that you aren't planning to go overboard with the modifications on this car. I'm pretty sure the engine swap would feed your need for speed. One suggestion though, please keep the cosmetic mods limited and subtle. |
Thanks Saumil, yes i am going to keep it basic with the engine mods for now as the stock engine with the lightweight body of the e46 is capable enough to have fun (0-100 km/h sprint in under 7.5 sec). Cosmetically i am going to keep it subtle but sporty, something like what v12 earlier posted.

Would love to check her out in person sometime, give me a shout when you're heading for a zombie drive or something.

Done :thumbs up
Recently changed the rear number plate lights to white LED's to refresh the look of the car at night as before only one of the lights (yellow) were working;
It was a simple DIY & here are some pics;
Old & New housing;
After;

Good subtle change this, looks up to date without looking too blue/ over the top. Hope you have no light busted indications on your cluster. I did for a while, then just changed to a new set and that solved it. Though the fit was compatible, the resistance (??)wasn't I'm thinking. Something to keep in mind if you are thinking of the reversing lamps next.

Ok :thumbs up
Stage 3 clutch kit just arrived;
This is sourced from Black Diamond Performance. This Paddle Clutch has been engineered to be a Race Clutch. These five paddle clutches are designed for use with highly modified engines (up to 40% above standard) have cerametallic friction surfaces which can cope with more power and deal with heat more efficiently, they wear at a slower rate, and have stainless steel backing plates.
This clutch is designed as direct replacement to standard unit using the original manufacturer’s bolt holes, no modification of the flywheel is necessary and the
standard clutch release mechanism can be retained :thumbs up
Test Running the New clutch;
Initial impressions are though being a Stage 3 clutch it still retains almost OE like clutch pedal release. As its a fresh install its too early to comment now but shall keep you posted :thumbs up

Hi Karan,
I thought this was a mod with specific targets in mind. But your list of mods is starting to get a little long. I have seen threads of the forum where everything will be modded or upgraded and the car is not reliable anymore. Eventually the car is sold.
I hope and wish your car doesn't end up as one such case.
