Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT

Congratulations TGO. Wish you a happy motoring. The looks beautiful.
Nexon being one of the safest cars in India, all you need to do is just enjoy the ride and let the car worry about keeping you safe.

Let us know of your experience with service guys are after the initial free check up.

Wondering what you going to do with the memory card ?

Stay safe as always

Congratulations on the new Nexon,
Face-lift looks much better compared to older version.
Most of niggles have already been taken care of in this car.
Wish your family a happy ownership ahead.

Congrats to your soldier brother & your family. Loved reading your wirte up, the attention to detail was awesome. Give your feedback in the longer run too how this turbo petrol performs & service, looking forward for that.

Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT

Absolutely stellar review, especially loved that bit comparing the BS 6 / BS 4 versions, very nicely done, informative and succint.

Lovely writing style as well.

As an aside though, your brother looks like Fauji to the T, I had missed some of those portions and saw your brother taking delivery and figured he was Fauji (which you later covered in the storage part).

Thank him on our behalf for his service.

It most probably is for the dashcam that he's ordered too. A ddpai, I believe.

A big thanks to everyone for their congratulatory messages and best wishes for our family and the ownership of the car.

You words of appreciation for putting together this review are encouragement enough for me to keep it updated for you all.

I remember you mentioning the same earlier. I think it hasn't been done. Will try to get it done from an aftermarket accessory shop. Just thinking that the clips would cut into the fabric and make a higher stress point leading to early failure.

Quite a few reasons reasons:
  • Not placed in the approved list of cars for sale through CSD.
  • Renault's focus in India is on smaller cars from the segment below. Other models don't get updated with latest features or a platform (Duster 2.0) even.
  • My brother doesn't have the same amount of patience nor would have access to ASC's nor would be willing to pay a premium for spares that Renault charges compared to even cars from a higher segment.
  • Drive train of the 1.3 T-Petrol is imported, and unproven in India.
  • Remotest (wishful even) possibility of a 4WD option to be listed sometime later which would make us feel shortchanged.

Even I am interested in knowing how the engine performs in the long run. Will update.

Couldnt agree more. The standard warranty is a joke. 2yrs and 75k KMs. Does Tata Still think its selling cars to Taxi operators ?
99% of the people will hardly drive so much. Tata know this and so they have devised a plan to extract some more money from you in the name of extended warranty where you can extend the years and a 'few' KMs.

.
With my heavy backside I had to secure the seats base, a Fauji's fit body the nadda will hold good.

Edit:
A big thank you for mentioning my name, for my gyan on Nexon, a sweet gesture.

Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT

TGO, congratulations to you and your brother on the Nexon. For some reason, the image in the hot threads section has suddenly made me fall in love with this shade on the Nexon . I'm sure this will be very well maintained just like your Dusters are.

Wishing your brother many many happy miles with his beauty.

Your 2 cents on the Dash cam too please, I'm planning to buy one myself.

-The audio/video capture is satisfactory.
-The jerk sensitivity is too high even at the lowest setting (our roads are to blame). 64GB gets full with emergency video in 4-5 weeks and then the cam stops recording and keeps relaying the annoying audio message "SD Card Error". Instructions on what to do next are not given anywhere. You cannot format the card in a laptop since it is write protected after it is formatted in the cam. You have to trick it to format the card by resetting the cam.
-Camera footage review interface (over app and wifi) is a bit slow.
-But for 3500 bucks, I guess I shouldn't be asking for anything more.

I have it in my duster too, won't buy it for the third time.

Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT

Congratulations for the new vehicle. My father in law will take delivery in December end and he switched his vehicle from Diesel to Petrol. Hopefully, it will be as much fun to drive as Diesel.
Did you consider Diesel option too?

I’m sure he’ll like it.

We didn’t consider any diesel after the Ecosport test drive. Had we stretched the budget and bought something from the next segment (weight category) it would have been diesel only considering the weak or no petrols on offer.

Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT

Congrats on the new purchase. Great review. Rated 5*

This is one of the most vfm and practical car from all the sub 4 meter (compact) suv's available.

If we consider this car as an overall package, it ticks all the boxes right, starting from power, comfort, features, fuel efficiency, space to safety. The music system of the Nexon is the icing on the cake.

My Bhpian friend arindam_xeta bought a Nexon in 2019 & since then we have done several road trips together. I love his car. Quite a few times, I got a chance to seat in his car & drive it too. I felt it to be more agile than my Duster, though Duster is more comfortable on bad roads.
