I will try to be honest without meaning any disrespect. On seeing the headline my first thought was 'Why are people crazy about Innova'. But as I kept going through your post there was a wee smile on my face. Your narration and sketches (they are very good), and the surprise you gave to your family were all so heartwarming. It may sound clichéd, but all my cynicism vanished in a moment because of your post.

Hearty congratulations on your new car, wishing you lakhs of pleasant and stress free KMs ahead. Take care and drive safe.

Although professor says it all:) but just to add- this young man is not a review, it's storytelling! And yes for me too Innova is no great shakes but your emotions and story behind it make it worth the read. And lovely sketches- don't try to be modest about them in future!:Cheering:

Happy and Safe Motoring Rajesh

The buying experience and the apt sketches have elevated this thread to a different level. I am uncertain whether anyone has perused this without scrolling up a few times.

BRILLIANT!!!

Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!

Those sketches, your candour in drawing a witty, calm and cajoling story through your sketches and words- Somebody called it the Malgudi days. Somebody said Serotonin for the soul while somebody thought he was seeing you through his balcony-

These comments in themselves deserve an award- the very fact that your writing and sketches evoked a response in the reader that many came out with such good words is compliments to your writing style.

Again as somebody said- forget everything including the Innova, it’s your sketches. He was right and so is everyone here- about you and your thread.

Simply BRILLIANT!!!!

My regards to your spouse, mother and lovely family. Without their support, this would not have been possible.

Wishing you happy miles and drives on the Crysta.

It is mightily the right choice for you.

Congratulations on the buy. You may probably be the last one on Teambhp to own an automatic Crysta. Amazing car to own for the next decade and one that is really comfortable.

Loved your sketches clap:

The sketches and the thought process was a good read. Wishing you many years of happy ownership ahead. :):Cheering:

Congrats on the new car!clap: And excellent review as well! The sketches were amazing, and added a lot to the ownership and buying experience. Please continue this as you update the thread!

We also own a Crysta AT, but in GX Gray color. We booked a White Manual though. It has run 17k km in one year.

I hope you put the Crysta to good use. Please take it out on long trips and don't forget to update us here :)

Wishing you many happy memories and journeys with your Crysta!!

Haha. Don't want to get competitive, but our Crysta was delivered in September of 2022. That was the month where Diesel Crystas stopped being made, so we were lucky to even get one.:Cheering:

I also told him that currently I am not looking to buy an Innova and added that - even if I decide to buy an Innova Crysta, that would be in Bangalore - because that is where I work and not in Erode.

I waited for a moment to see his reaction.

He replied "No problem sir. I would be happy to show you the car". He invited us to sit in the display Innova Crysta.

Welcome to the Toyota family. I can clearly feel the happiness that you went throughout the booking and delivery experience! :Cheering:

Toyota sales and service team are very good in terms of customer service and after-sales support, except one dealer/service center where I was not at all satisfied with their approach and the job they did on my Innova (not Crysta).

Reading this, I myself got flashbacks from the year 2011 when I was in my 7th grade, and had accompanied Dad to take the delivery of our brand new 2011 Innova in Light Blue Metallic paint scheme, which are rarely seen on roads 'compared' to other paint schemes. I can clearly see, back then and even till date, Toyota's customer approach has remained the same across most of the dealership / service centers I have visited so far.

Being the owner of the old Innova, here are my good sugesstions which can be helpful for your Crysta's long term life:
By the way, the delivery experience, ownership and review is very well written. Kudos!

Drive safe!
Sud.

Congrats Rajesh & your family on the workhorse.

Seeing an Innova crysta ZX review, I skipped clicking it for 3 days thinking what is new to be known in a Crysta. Man I was wrong. It is the heartwarming story in each of the threads that make them a worthwhile read. Great narration, great sketches, a great car and a humble man tying them up all together.

Congratulations again

Congratulations on your new car! Cheers to munching more miles than ever before!

I’ll be damned! You are simply the best narrator I have ever come across! :Cheering:
You say your sketches aren’t good…? Well, then mine can only be defined as a terror attack on paper with crayon and colour pencil missiles rl:

My brain was actually converting what you wrote into a short movie, with all the dialogues, especially the one in the balcony while hanging clothes.

I’m actually in awe! You’ve gained a fan, my friend!
Continue with the sketches and etc, I look forward to those :)

Awesome work on the sketches. Really brought the narrative to life - I especially liked the art style - so simple and yet so vivid. Congrats on the Innova Crysta - the Z variant is really quite loaded and I have no doubt that it will be a pleasant mile muncher for years to come.

I really enjoyed your story and sketches. It made me relate very personally, although I am not married, but the yearning and support of family members.

Congratulations and best of luck for times to come with the car! :)

Exceptional, unbiased & detailed ownership reviews of cars have started going to our homepage reviews box. It's the ultimate stamp of trust from Team-BHP (as a platform) because lakhs of visitors every month check out reviews from there & make purchase decisions.

Your review has also been included here. Thank you so much for sharing :thumbs up.

I absolutely loved your sketches and illustrations, it really made us feel like we were a part of your story as well. It gave such a unique perspective into your journey, I absolutely loved it. Not to mention, your art style is so so cute.

Also I must say, not enough is being spoken about your photos. They're such clean, pointed, artful (dare I say) photos. Amazingly well centred, perfect angles! Such a treat to see and read- your art, photography, and narration style; perfect marriage!

Many congratulations on your new car. Our 2.8 G is 7 years old and reached 58000kms last week. I know, low running for a Crysta, I wish you multiples of that figure in lesser time! Happy motoring! Wishing you plenty long, comfortable, easy, fun road trips; watch her much those miles effortlessly!

Conclusion.
So that is the summary of events that led us to buy a brand new Innova Crysta Z - AT. I must agree that the show room experience in Erode and Whitefield was pleasant throughout. I am not endorsing any showroom here, nor advertising them. But I felt the sales was pretty good, if not outstanding.

About the Sketches
Sorry about the art quality of the sketches. I am not an artist. Also I am not very good in colors too. Those sketches are just representations/scribbling of the said moments. I tried to capture the real world elements as much as possible.

Bro - sketches gave your narration a boost and made this thread super nice to read and couple of notches above the rest of us.
Transported me back to the era when we read comic books of yore :). Tugged at the heart strings really!!

Edit: - I feel this should be 5 * rated thread. Rating it 5 *. Sorry - cant keep to find how to rate a thread :(

Like how they show in movies, my hands touched the logo, the gear lever, the dash et al to get the feel. LOL. I liked the interiors of Innova Crysta. Though it was designed around 2016/17, the quality and feel is pretty good even today. That moment, I wished I could buy an Innova. And in reality, I do not know if I can afford such a costly MUV.

Vinoth was pretty good with all details. I liked the fact that he did not go overboard, did not bash Xylo, did not say "we are Toyota. Toyota reliability, bla bla blaah". He focused only on the product and the features we were interested in.We checked out the car. Front row, middle row and last row. We both got down.Wifey was pretty impressed. She was in all smiles.

Hi You have a talent for story-telling......and have woven a beautiful tapestry of text, sketches and photos to tell a compelling story of your beautiful experience in shifting from owning a Xylo to now the Innova Crysta. I was just wondering what sketch would you have chosen for what event in this process, and I found the choices and the artful skills of each sketch so captivating and appropriate - for examples: The picture of Xylo depicting a bouncy ride lol: :thumbs up and again when the Aadhaar card office was closed, a close-up sketch of a lock and the collapsible jali gate, so succinct. All those sketches have your time and affection invested in them, and it shows. Please keep illustrating your posts like this clap:

May you and your family enjoy your time with this four-wheeled companion in your lives
