This is the first time I am hearing this!! I park close to the wall (~60cm) and have never seen the wipers move. I will try parking it much closer and try it out :

If you want to fire up google voice assistant instead of Alexa, then press and hold the voice button for >2 sec.
Thanks for telling me about the Google feature.

I too also need to once reconfirm the reverse parking feature.

It is more of a preference thing. Normal fuel also works but we want the engine to have a longer life and it's technically a new car so it's getting all the love a new born gets .

That's a wonderful review about your XUV700. The highlight of your review is they way you centered on each and every category like even headlamps. The main highlight is that " Kitna peeti Hai " . Iam surprised about that wiper moment, I have a doubt whether your front wiper was running at the time or not ? because in my ford if suppose the front wiper was running then automatically when we slot it into reverse the rear wiper starts working.

Thanks for mentioning the wiper thing , i will just try to check it once again as me myself now is questioning it.

I am a human and i also can make mistakes, so will check and get back to it.

I am glad you enjoyed reading it

Love your writing style. XUV 7OO is one car I truly like. Looks smart in white. It checks all the boxes for our use case as well.

Happy touring

Nice review. Mildly surprised that you didn’t mention the absence of an auto-dimming IRVM and the lack of ventilated seats (these are a boon in our humid climate particularly in cars with non fabric seats).

Re: 1+ year with our Mahindra XUV700 AX7L Petrol AT

Hey brother, agree with all the points above. Have recently received my XUV700 AX7 AT and I relate with these points. I was travelling with my wife’s siblings and had the same middle row air cooling issue until my wife found out a solution ie this switch(in the pic) in the climate control panel. I am sure you might be already aware but just posting for the benefit of others. Cheers

The XUV 700 boasts a remarkable 12-speaker Sony surround sound system, creating an immersive auditory experience. Upon closer observation, this system truly shines with English and Punjabi songs, thanks to its rich bass output. The speakers prove to be a sonic treasure, particularly when indulging in bass-heavy tracks. However, when it comes to Hindi songs, there might be moments where the system seems to lack the desired depth.

As a devoted audiophile with a collection including the Sony XM 5, renowned as one of the finest headphones available, paired with Spotify Premium for optimal audio enjoyment, I possess a discerning ear for audio devices. Grading the XUV's speakers, I'd confidently assign them a solid 9 out of 10. My driving soundtrack primarily consists of bass-infused tunes, aligning seamlessly with the speakers' strengths.

Given the diverse nature of individual preferences, reviews about the system could certainly vary. One notable challenge is the occasional audio distortion and intrusive white noise that occurs during the car's start-up. An effective workaround involves completely powering down the vehicle, waiting momentarily, and restarting to alleviate the issue. This presents a noteworthy area for Mahindra to address promptly.

If it makes you feel any better, my experience was the same with the much lauded 12 speaker Sony system in the Scorpio-N and the 9 speaker JBL unit with boot subwoofer in my Hycross. After all the marketing hype, it felt like a letdown. It has decent bass and it can get very loud but that's about it. Sound quality is nowhere near as good as even my mid-spec 15 year old 5.1 Onkyo system at home.

Ironically, the best speaker system I heard in this segment was in the Safari black edition, which was also a JBL unit, despite Tata not even bringing attention to it in their adverts. I also heard people praising the MG Hector's system, though I have personally not heard it so can't comment.

I heard that the bose speakers on Hyundai are also not that good. Looks like this is the new way to mislead customers by buying the cheap speakers and paying a licensing fee to the audio company to use their software in the headunit just so they can advertise the car as having it. I don't think the actual speakers are made by Sony, Bose etc as was revealed in many tear down videos.

"I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUERIES ABOUT THE XUV 700"[/center]
Very nice and useful review.

Few queries-

- How is teh AC performance?
- What about service costs and general price of spare parts?
- How is the ride quality when alone in the car?

Thanks

Reading this in 2025, and so much rings true.

Have been enjoying mine for a couple of months now, with mine having been delivered in March this year.

I'd be very keen to hear your experiences after 3 years of ownership now

PS: The ventilated seats have truly been a very useful update

THE BAD

It has only one major issue , black screens. The screen goes black and nothing works . You need to switch off the car and wait for a while and then start it again so that it starts working again.
Have you had this issue recurring since then? I’ve seen this happening with my car once in two months and it becomes frustrating when you are in bumper to bumper traffic. For me this issue hasn’t fixed even after getting the latest updates from Mahindra service centre.

In case someone is using Apple CarPlay, You can just say “Hey Siri” for voice commands like calling, changing/playing songs etc. However, it can only be used to control features on your phone and not the car like sunroof etc.

With Apple CarPlay Ultra coming soon, it will be possible to control vehicle’s features via Siri as well.
