Esteem:-As expected.Kind of old big daddy feeling. Stale Design. But VFM. Can put my money on it.

I am still undecided on what will I buy..
Next in the list to TD Ford Ikon,Indigo.

Hi Mohit

I test drove Swift and Getz Prime GLS 1.3 - buying Getz Prime.
Other factors apart, i'm TOTALLY surprised how you could give a rear seat comfort of 7.5 to Swift and 7 to Getz Prime.
Other factors apart, this is the "prime" differentiator between both models with the Swift rear seat space/comfort being MILES behind the Getz Prime..

Actually that was also one of the deciding factors in my purchase decision - the Swift rear seat felt like a M800 in terms of space/comfort...

mogambo,
Even i am surprised! But thats what I felt.
Though Swift feels a little cramped due to very small windows...but as far as rear leg room is concerned, i felt swift was no worse than Getz.

Hi Mohit - With due respect - that is also not too true.
Check out This Link on IndiaAutomobile.com.

Swift min. legroom (min - max) is 8cm less than Getz Prime.
Swift rear legroom goes 58cm to 82cm whereas Getz Prime gives you 66cm - 88cm. Plus head room at the back is also less because the Swift roof slopes back. Add to that the smaller windows at the back and the Swift rear gives you a more congested feeling..

Maybe its an impartial analysis - maybe its a case of sour grapes coz I didn't get a Swift Diesel VDi when I wanted it But the numbers speak for themselves, and so does my better half who was the real judge of the back-seat comfort...

Getz back seat comfort and space is miles ahead of Swift. Swift scores over Getz only in power and pickup.

Thanked: Once

yesterday i test drove all three cars uva swift and getz: this is wat i found:

Swift: pros: Excellent driveability, smooth drive ,excellent stearing, brand maruti in india is big in terms of service and resale value

cons: poor space in front but more so in rear, poor suspension, very common nowadays

Getz1.1: pros: spacious, good features(in base model unlike in uva where these features are only in top model) like rear saet 60:40 folding, rear defogger, tilt straering ; suspension is exellent; ;good gear box.brand hyundai is better in terms of resale and *** than chevy.

cons: driveabilty was not upto the mark, power stearing was bad,

Uva: pros: good looks, feel of a big car from outside as well as when u sit inside it, driveabilty is not as good as swift but much better than getz 1.1; excellent suspension.

cons: brand chevy not to popular in india so resale and *** will be poor. features like tilt stearing and seat folding are only in top models unlike getz!

Even my mom felt the same. She feels, the Swift's rear seat, even though a little cramped, is more comfy than that of an Ikon.

PS: I can't comment as I haven't traveled in rear seat of the Swift.

Hi Jag,
I test drove Ikon too....but found the rear seat much more spacious and comfortable when compared to any hatchback.

and you know what, something that i had not paid attention to in earlier TDs, the inclination of the seat back.
when I TDed, swift, uva and getz, I never adjusted it.
that may be the reason why I felt differently abt the rear seat comfort when compared to others.

More comfortable than that of an Ikon ? I seriously doubt it. With all due respects, I think that the Ikon has one of the best rear seats even among all entry level sedans. Please travel in both the vehicles and will know the difference with time.

PS: I own both cars.

swift vs U-VA

I own a swift Zxi.And looking for my second car. I do agree that swift's back seat is not as good as U-VA's. But when it comes to engine.... 0.9866 PS = 1 HP Ford can never come near Swift(Fiesta 1.4 Duratec's 82PS vs Swifts 87BHP) A Big+ for swift over the waste called fiesta (Swift is having value for money) Again Ford can never come near Swift Diesel(Fiesta 1.4 Duratorq's 68PS compared to Swifts 75bhp) Bigger ford fiesta is not having any technological advantages(Forget Ford!) When i compare with U-VA a test drive proved that it was not better than swift in engine performance. But i think UVA's build quality may be better than swift. I have escaped without any major injuries(thanx to airbags)on very high speed accident in my swift. Swift Zxi comes with tubeless, alloy wheels and abs which gives value for money.I remind you the back seat BAD DESIGN of swift. I'm impressed with UVA's spaciousness. I'm looking for suggestion on spark and UVA. Anybody to help?
