Re: Mercedes GLC 300 Petrol 4MATIC | Ownership Review

Took a quick ~410 kms round trip this Saturday to visit some family temples (somewhere between Rajgurunagar and Shirur). Left at about 5.40 am and were back home a little before 3.30 pm. I didn’t fancy driving all day so this time I took the driver along as well. He drove on most of the expressway and the Chakan etc stretches while I did all the driving that was beyond the Chakan region, both ways.

This was overdue as we normally go once a year but had missed our 2024 trip. So I was keen to wrap this up in the first weekend itself of 2025. Had never taken the GLC here either so decided to take the Mercedes on this temple run. If that had not been the case I’d have considered taking the 3GT as well, particularly since the driver was doing the heavy lifting of the driving duties.

Nothing like catching an exquisite sunrise. On the expressway here.

Inner B roads in MH, which I absolutely love driving on.

Parked outside the three different temples we visited this.

More inner roads.

Finally reached home in the afternoon (the pic was taken later at night). 8.5 hours of driving time in total.

These are some great travelogues and your report on the GLC is superb. Can you please also throw some light on the aircon efficiency of the car? I heard from a couple of people who own GLC and GLE in Delhi, and they were not too happy with the climate control and felt wanting in the harsh and hot delhi summers.

Thank you. I think the air conditioning is strictly average indeed. I don’t know if it’s a German car thing but even my 3GT air conditioning is just about all right. The last car I had with a top notch AC was probably my 2009 Honda Civic, which I sold in 2017.

Re: Mercedes GLC 300 Petrol 4MATIC | Ownership Review

Mods,
Please move or delete if it's not relevant to this ownership thread.

But I do want to highlight a test drive experience I had with Mr. Roshan Shetty, from Landmark Mercedes- Mumbai.

Disclaimer: I'm not associated with Mercedes, Roshan, or Landmark in any way, but just want to share a positive experience. (His number, incase needed, is +91 6351149097)

We had a flexible budget and were looking at cars between 30 and 70 lakhs - also test drove the GLC in the process. This was in late October.

We finally settled on a Hycross which we have booked.

Coming to the test drive - I've genuinely not met a person who's more courteous than Roshan. I usually wouldn't think too much about how the SA's conduct is, however, he left a massively positive impression on me. The way he conducted himself, how humble he was when highlighting features, and was quite knowledgeable too. Not to mention, he mentioned that given its a soft roader SUV, it should be test driven in a way to live up to the term SUV, i.e. in challenging conditions. It was a truly luxurious experience, something I've felt for the first time. My dad and I, both were feeling bad to not do business with him once we had finalised our choice.

Just look at his response when we informed him about the Hycross

Quote:
[29/01, 14:03] My dad: Hello Roshan, Thanks so much for your patience!

We have decided to go for a more utility vehicle than this one, this time, hycross!
I must put on record that you have been the best salesperson my son and I met in life so far! You left and indelible mark on us.

[29/01, 14:07] Roshan: Good Afternoon Sir

Thank you so much for your kind words, they truly mean a lot to me. I completely respect your decision, and I’m sure the Hycross will serve you well.

It was an absolute pleasure interacting with you and your son, and I sincerely look forward to crossing paths again in the future. Please do not hesitate to reach out anytime , I’d be more than happy to assist you in any way I can.

Wishing you many safe and wonderful journeys ahead! Happy Motoring Sir

Best regards,
Roshan Shetty
