BMW M4 LCI (G82) | 2000 kms & 1 Month ownership review

Hello again fellow Bhpians,

Its Time for my Yearly review and this time it's not EV.

Picked up the LCI M4 a month back in the most beautiful shade I have ever had the pleasure of owning, aventurine red!! This shade is extremely beautiful. Day Vs night, Shade Vs light, the color is so different every time and i cant stop staring at her.

This review comes post 2000 kms after the break in service so I could give more information.

For starters, BMWs first ever flat bottom steering, CSL tail lights, BMW connected features and the new "snake eye style DRL" which has an amazing welcome light dance and a slight overhaul for the AC vents, it's all the same as the older M4 but ofcourse a lot more beautiful thanks to the CSL Tail lights. (that is what sold me on this car).

Starting with the cons, I don't have any yet. Low clearance and low mileage is what I have signed up for and was fully prepared for it and does not impact the smile what so ever.

Break in service- At 2000 kms, break in/ Run in service was due which included - oil filter change, oil change, differential fluid and overall vehicle check. Pre run-in i’ve maintained below 4.5K RPM and that was extremely difficult.

Range for those interested- Highway range is about 11-13 km, city with no traffic about 7-8 and 4 in traffic.

OPTIONS / MODS-
Planned mods- CSL grill (installed within the first week), Carbon Lip spoiler(still deciding which one), carbon paddles to replace the plastic/ rubber stock ones and most important being the exhaust which i plan around 12-14 months mark. not to forget yellow CSL DRL but not sure of the Iron man Mark 1 vibes on aventurine red.

Not interested in front lip or a rear diffuser as this is a daily driver, driven in heavy traffic and regular bad city roads and do not want to make this car even more difficult to drive or make it a garage queen. Despite having Ev6 as the perfect usual daily, I cant seem to want to stop driving this one.

About the stock exhaust- I have noticed that out of Quad setup, 2 have valves in them and one opens up in sport and both in sport plus.

Out of the bmw options, i did not opt for carbon seats or exterior carbon package for obvious reason being this car is a DAILY driver and i want maximum comfort and ease of driving plus the parts bought outside are way cheaper. Plus the carbon roof and interior carbon is a default option.

PPF- OCD hyderabad helped me with the best PPF work including a matte screen protector which helps a LOT with finger prints on screen and the M4 logo on the seats too have gotten a matte PPF on them, looks AMAZING.

BOOTSPACE- IT IS AMAZING and did not expect to fill two large suitcases with no difficulty.

SEATING- just to test out, made 2 6ft tall friends sit in the front passenger and rear passenger seat at the same time with a lot of head and leg room for a 2 door 4 seater couple, LOVE IT.

KEYS- apart from the 2 physical keys, you get a bmw “card” key and bmw connected which offers key in apple wallet on phone and watch which will not just unlock the car but also let you start and drive. (wont AUTO log into your profile but that is NO biggie)

Spare wheel- LMAO we got none just like the Ev6 which does not even have a space saver.

WINDSCREEN- Unfortunately have a windscreen chip which has turned into a massive crack. NOTE to everyone- IF planning drives with a group, stay far behind cars ahead of you or stay ahead of everyone else. 2- Avoid drives without PPF (thankfully i had it) 3- Invest in clearplex or some sort of windscreen PPF because ordering a windscreen and getting it changed is a pain and you mess with factory fitment i guess, will know more once windscreen is changed.

SOUND SYSTEM- thankfully the sound system quality and output is insanely good. BMW has not compromised here at all. At par with X5 IMO but not IX.

360 CAMERA- the camera system for front and back with pano view is amazing but BMW really needs to up the side camera game, learn from Mercedes and KIA even.

FUEL- Have been using XP95 until break in with Engine cleaning additive once every 4 -5 tanks and planing on moving to 97 now, will update if there is any noticeable difference. Would love feedback on what fuel to use. i do not think octane 99 or 100 are needed for an M car and the tank capacity is 59 liters. Should I use Indian oil XP 95 OR Bharat P- Speed 97 or Hyderabad Petroleum 97?

Post break in, redlining feels GLORIOUS but have not gotten the opportunity for a full send just yet. Car feels louder and burble/ pops seem more prominent.

ADAS ( no clue what level ) - I remember specifically opting out for the parking / adas package but this car has come with lane keep assist and forward collision which has to be shut off every time you start the car. Forward collision has given me trauma with the Ev6 and IX and will always shut it when starting up. This car somehow allows a shortcut to shut off forward collision which does not come in Ix/M2/X5 or any other car with forward collision.

BMW connect app widgets (home and lock screen) love the information they provide. (month driving update/ fuel level/ car alerts/ car remote function and many more).

Over all, more than the speed and exhaust note, what i love is how comfortable the car is when it needs to be and aggressive and planted when it needs to be.

Hope this review helps people decide or just help curious minds. Added all pictures below!

That's some seriously good-looking bimmer out there in stunning color. Eager to spot you out there in Hyderabad streets roaring through the roads of Jubilee Hills! Maybe someday we'll cross our paths and get to meet you.

That is definitely one of the rarest bimmers in India currently. Wishing you several happy miles with the beauty.

Congratulations, the color looks excellent in pictures. Highway range of 11-13 km/l is good for such a performance oriented car.
Please keep us posted after the installation of the upgrades.

By far the best looking M4 in India. Love the exterior color!
Interior color in a lighter shade would have been my personal choice but black also looks great as a combo.

Re: BMW M4 LCI (G82) | 2000 kms & 1 Month ownership review

Hearty congrats on your acquisition. The colour is very different and looks fabulous in all kinds of lighting. Great to note that you intend to use this as your daily driver. Wishing you many happy kilometres of ownership !

Does your car come with run-flat tyres? If so, I would strongly recommend switching over to tubeless for peace of mind. With regards to fuel - I have been partial to IOC and would prefer XP 95. You should definitely try HP 100 octane as that will make a difference in crispness and power. Do note that with high octane fuel, they do add additives which can cause gumming on the injectors over a course of time. As your car is brand new, don't have to worry about it now, but do consider using some fuel additives like Redline injector cleaner or ask BMW about this. Good call on adding protection to your windscreen - I went for Stek Dynoflex and it has saved my windscreen from chipping on more than one occasion.

Congrats. Have to appreciate your taste. That's a great choice of colour. And those tails lights. WOW. Definitely the best looking ones IMO.

M340i owners beware! The game just reached the next level

Jokes apart, congrats CarbonFume on the lovely M4. Wish you many happy miles with it.

Perhaps you could shed some light on your entire story with the car so far: how the decision to buy was made, what other options you considered, any deal you got (if you want to disclose)

And it looks like you're in a good company of BMW supercar owners in your city. Hope you keep this thread updated on your various outings, and also on life with the M4. Cheers
