Re: Our 2024 Maruti Suzuki DZire ZXI+ AT Review | Selene

Thank you so much for the honour, Aditya. And thank you for the kind words, NPV.

Some more observations from the time spent with Selene:-

Such a fancy 6-LED headlamp setup warranted turn indicators integrated into the LED DRLs. Sequential indicators would have been awesome!
Instead we get these (rather disappointing) normal bulb units on both sides.

Because of this, the merging at the rear isn't clean. A design trait borrowed from Hyundai?

Re: Our 2024 Maruti Suzuki DZire ZXI+ AT Review | Selene

I feel no car at this price (maybe apart from the Amaze), offers so much VFM. I feel the Dzire makes the perfect car for city usage coupled with occasional highway or high speed runs. Congratulations on this beauty!

As for the halogen indicators and the footwell lamp, if your headlight and footwell lamp are not sealed units, then swapping out the traditional halogen bulb for an LED one is quite easy and cheap as well! Do not bother if they are sealed units, not worth the time and voiding of the warranty. Definitely recommend you to look into that upgrade, will make the external looks of the car wrt the lighting a 10/10.

Wishing you many many happy miles in this lovely machine! All the best!

Congratulations in advance, Prasanna.

All MGA certified seat covers are beige, with dashes of silver/black or all-beige. I had gone to avail the first free service on 21st December and some accessories for the 2024 DZire had unloaded from their supply truck on the same day. Chose the best out of 3 seat cover sets which were shown to me. Pics below.

Not going the Autoform/Elegant way for our DZire since I have had a bad experience with Autoform with my 2020 Creta, plus we don't need expensive seat covers for the daily rough grind the car is seeing right now.

Beige or any other light colour is preferred for the DZire because the interiors are in beige and the elderly in our house prefer cars which look bright, roomy and spacious from the inside. Dark interiors seem gloomy, and for a khandaan such as ours which is full of grumpy old folks, it would be a huge deterrent.

In addition, I got the 3D trunk mat, number plate housing, door protector set and a steering cover fitted, last one from outside. Also ordered a nice gold-plated Lord Ganesh idol from Amazon. Have ordered the illuminated scuff plates and 3D in-cabin mats matching the trunk mat from the dealership. I'll need to get the front armrest fitted from outside. Since the car is seeing in-city commuting only, spending on any additional fitments is not necessary for us.

First Free Service at 215 kms (after 1 month)

It's just general checkup and washing. Went to avail it on Saturday 21st December, a day after Selene had turned 1 month old. Reached the Maruti Arena workshop at 11 AM, and I was given a rough estimate of 150 rupees and a time of 2 PM. The service manager warmly welcomed me, having been a part of the unveil of my car on delivery day.

The supply truck was being unloaded just behind Selene, which had carried spare parts and accessories from Maruti to this dealership. I went over to the main showroom and was provided with a list of accessories for the DZire which had been unloaded minutes ago. The 3 seat cover sets (compatible with side airbags) were all beige - one was completely beige and the other two had the same pattern all over, with the central cut parts in black in one set while the other set had silver cut parts. I chose the one which looked the most premium out of the 3. Also listed the door protector set, numberplate housing and the 3D trunk mat for fitment after washing was over.

The service advisor kept me updated. Selene was driven into the Nexa washing hangar next door, since the Arena washing bay was full. Good for me, because our DZire got the Nexa washing treatment, complete with dashboard and doorpad polishing. It was driven back to the Arena dealership at 1:35 PM, after which they commenced with the accessories fitments. By 3 PM, all the work was over, Selene was sparkling from the outside and glistening from the inside. I was out of the dealership by 3:30 PM.

x 145.00 = First Free Service (with a Microfiber cloth & 3 screenwash pouches)
6,555.00 = SAB PU Design 3 colour seat cover set
1,320.00 = 3D Trunk Mat
x 195.00 = Door Protector Set
2,260.00 = CGST & SGST @ 14% each
-------------
10,475.00 = Total

Numberplate housing charges were waived off.

We have noticed a few small gremlins in the past week or so. After shutdown, locking from the driver door button gives off a long beep, as if something inside the DZire has not been shut properly. Even after opening and closing the driver door, the long beep persists. Locking from the key finally solves this.

Also, family members have reported that the "Auto Start/Stop Not Available" has popped up on the MID a couple of times now when Selene slows down to a halt in dense traffic. I have yet to notice it, but I usually drive with that button disabled, so I can only test it when I take her out the next time with the feature enabled.

Rest is all good. Selene is keeping everyone happy. Smoothness and pickup is good, head/body nods till shifting to 4th aside. A very predictable, practical and safe option in this segment, IMO. Our whole family is absolutely satisfied with the unanimous choice they have made.

ODO sits at 257 kms today. Ciao!

First of all, thank you, Team-BHP moderators for approving my membership and for feeling privileged to be a part of this esteemed forum.

Coming to the fantastic review of BHPian RavenAvi, I am also considering a new DZire as my first car (from my funds). Is the dealership providing a hard copy of the service book for the new DZire. I have enquired at my nearest dealership, but they said that Suzuki has stopped providing the same. If any customer wants the same, then one has to order it separately.

Hello there! The beeping may be due to the doors being not locked properly, or due to the key being inside the car. Is there a faint chance that you might have forgotten the spare key inside the car? That could be the reason. If not then it's advisable to get it checked out at the service centre.

Regarding the auto start stop not available message, I've noticed the same pop up quite sometimes on my uncle's dualjet Swift zxi+ manual, it probably depends on the clutch positioning(fully depressed or pressed) or if the car is in motion. Auto Start stop kicks in later on. Not sure about the ASS mechanism in the AMT. Again it is advisable to get it checked out. Of the very few times I've driven his car on private closed areas, I've done it with the Auto Start Stop feature turned off, so what I said is what I *think* happens. Correct me if I'm wrong anywhere.

Cheers!

Can you confirm how the behavior of AMT is? Are the gear shifts intrusive or smooth. I had sat in a AMT Baleno once as a passenger and it felt acceptable. I believe Maruti has tuned the AMT further so it should be even better. Is it good for 70-90 Kmph speed cruising? Also please remark on large speed breakers.

Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words.

No service manual was given with the car. You can download it via the link shared in the Suzuki app or from the official website.

Nope and nope. Spare key is inside a drawer at home. And the Auto Start/Stop is always on by default when the car is cranked up. These are definitely intermittent bugs.

The AMT's response is as smooth as an AMT can be, at par with Hyundais. There is a definite feel when it shifts upward the first 3 times, after which it is smooth. Downshifts are imperceptible, except for the last 1 or 2 gears. Overall, very acceptable for an AMT box mated to a 3-pot engine. Maruti-Suzuki's engineers have worked hard on this, and it shows in everyday driving.

At speeds till 90kph, it's all smooth sailing. The DZire also feels solidly planted. We haven't driven it beyond 100kmph so can't comment on speeds higher than that. But the car is stable and the rolling is smooth. Due to the slightly less power figures, it takes a bit of time to reach the 100kpmh mark but maintains it's speeds well. For someone who drives regularly between 60-70kmph, there is no cause for complaints.

As for large speed breakers, you have to definitely slow down. It's a low-slung sedan so it's well-advised to handle them carefully. Whenever I drive, I go across big speed breakers diagonally. Not sure how our other family members do this but I diligently follow this rule since my Honda City days.

Re: Our 2024 Maruti Suzuki DZire ZXI+ AT Review | Selene

This is my first post, and I take this opportunity to thank the moderators for approving my membership.

I have recently changed my Car to New Dzire ZXI+ AMT, and I find the related threads very informative & helpful.

Thanks to RavenAvi for this very informative thread!

Would you kindly provide some more insights, particularly about the following:

Option to turn the wireless charging pad ON/OFF is given in the corresponding HU widget.
Attachment 2699084

Is this option to turn the wireless charging pad ON/OFF available on the console, in settings? Even after trying very hard, I could not find it.

However, I managed to find the on/off control for the wireless charging pad on the Smart Play Pro app. I have toggled it to 'off' position (to reduce battery load) when the app got connected to the vehicle data, after many unsuccessful attempts. Since then, the app has refused to get connected, and I have lost access to this setting. It will be helpful if this can be accessed from the vehicle console.

Another issue I am facing is I am not able to get sound notification for incoming email in Gmail, when my phone is connected to the car through Android Auto. I missed important emails, and any insights from the esteemed forum members to resolve this issue will be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot,
- Nayan
