From whatever info I've noted on the spares, good news is that filters, brakes, foglamp, tail lamp, suspension components, AC evap Core are now fairly priced, and even the common VW gremlin wheel speed sensor is just INR 2200 each. Some mid and long term ones can be expensive. Here are some examples based on what I've gathered (pardon me if these are wrong)

  1. Coolant temperature sensor INR 2,800
  2. Water Pump INR 14,000
  3. Radiator fan assembly INR 30,000
  4. Lambda probes (exhaust) INR 12,000 each
  5. Fuel pump assembly INR 20,000
  6. Fuel pump control unit INR 20,000
  7. Fuel injector INR 19,000 each
  8. Ignition coil INR 4,600 each
  9. Exhaust silencer rear can INR 15,000
  10. Exhaust silencer front can INR 18,000
  11. Exhaust Catcon assembly INR 2,00,000
  12. AC Condenser INR 12,000
  13. AC EvapCore INR 3,500
  14. AC Pressure switch INR 5,700
  15. AC Compressor assembly INR 36,000
  16. Driveshafts INR 12,000 each

I'm as much in the grey as you are, on this query.

Thank You @dieselOmaniac. I'm not too sure but I think the S and M modes display the 1,2,3 but the D mode only shows D.

Yes, I had asked the same question regarding the gear number D2/D3 not being visible on the Official Review thread, and it seems to have been done via a newer software update, as @agambhandari pointed out here (Volkswagen Virtus Review)

This gear display in D mode has been changed with a newer software being used in cars made after april. TC AT cars do not have the number shown in D mode. DSG cars continue to have it. There is no setting to change

Thanks @supernova105 for the update. Thankfully my car is manufactured Nov'23 so hopefully I will be spared. And I just had the 1 year 15K km service done - no changes observed.

What on earth struck VW to remove such useful feature as gear indicator in D mode??!!

Indeed, seems so frustrating, I won't even know the current gear if I may need to downshift using the paddles in some scenarios, even though I can trust the transmission to do that for me mostly.

I asked the question about the MID layout above, and I can see the same layout in your photo shared above as well ( Speed to the right, Driving data in between odometer, Gear indication to the left)

Is that an older software layout, or did you also do some coding to get this type of screen layout?

Currently if the odometer/ speedometer view is selected, I can only see the speed in between in a larger font, and cannot edit anything around it.
Seems like most of the customisable features have been let go
My car is manufactured in Oct '24.

No @supernova105 I didn't do any coding, nor that I intend to do any, I have a fear that can void warranty (I took 2 years ext warranty too so dont want that to get affected). Its really unfortunate if VW intentionally came up with such software 'upgrade' ?! Can you please post a screenshot what issue you are facing while trying to come up with the screen like mine?

1.5 Topline is a DSG while 1.0 Topline is a Torque Convertor. So DSG has the gear indicator whereas TC has no such indications.

I was able to figure it out, and now I have gotten the same display mode in the odometer view.
I was trying the side arrows (Side Menu view settings beside OK)
I actually needed to press the Up/Down arrows during Odometer/Speedometer view for setting the data inside the circle.
It's all good now
