Re: Mercedes A35 AMG Review | Go-go luxury go-kart | Meet my old-new baby AMG

Is your write-up by any chance AMG powered as it was no less engaging and kept me glued to my seat. Amazing review of a true German sedan.

I absolutely resonate the admiration for sedans, but the roads in this side of our country do not aspire the confidence to take your sedan to uncharted paths. Hence we chose an SUV, otherwise I am with team Sedan any-day and everyday.

Thank you for this review, congrats on the AMG, wish you lots of happy kilometres with it.

Will surely let you know before I head that side. I absolutely have to. The roads in MH leave something to be desired, let's just leave it at that. I absolutely will head towards Karnataka, just don't know when. Will hit you up when that happens.
Also, I'm 18 so no sirs pls. It doesn't suit either of us.

OT - but i'm a UI/UX Designer so I know what you have gone through while trying to chase perfection. but I always keep one thing pinned on my notes - perfection is an illusion, stop chasing it.

Always welcome to Karnataka bro, just lemme know so that I can pre-plan bunking college and we'll def meet up.

Cheers

My lawyers have advised me to neither confirm nor deny whether I am on AMG's payroll.

You know what, until a few years back I was militantly in favour of sedans. Over time, I have started to see some sense. But on my terms.

I have come to realise that just as I enjoy sedans or hatches with character, I enjoy SUVs with character. They're few in number, but they're there.

For instance, I had the keys to a 2.0 litre Defender some months back. I expected it to be too heavy, and uncharacterful. It was anything but. The ride quality was sublime, and the power was more than adequate for a beast of its size. But more than anything, it had brute force charisma, raw sex appeal. That, I get.

Similarly, I quite like the Thar, even if its ride quality is a bit bumpy. I'll forgive it its flaws because it looks so damn sexy in almost any colour.

And then there's the Jimny, which a friend very unkindly (and hilariously) dubbed an SUV with polio. But I drove it for a few days in Goa, and fell in love with it. How Maruti decided to sell something fun and desirable, I will never know. Sadly, the market reaction will have likely dissuaded them from making such happy mistakes again.

So yes. I have come to realise that the ideal garage needs an SUV to adorn it. That way, one can use the right tool fit for purpose. In time, I'm certain I will bring an SUV home, but it has to be one after my own heart.

P.S: The roads here aren't anything to write home about either. Jai Maharashtra.

Who are you, who is so wise in the ways of the world?

It took me several decades to realise this fundamental fact. That you have learnt it so young bodes very well for you.

For the record, I do not condone anyone bunking college to do anything at all, even if I can write a textbook on it titled "101 reasons to bunk classes, and why you should have done so yesterday".

Needless to say, will give you a heads up in time. Whenever that is.

Now I know how it feels when I do it to others. Karma is a *****

Been in the design industry for a year, I'm still an amateur, in the learning phase. Trying to work to the best of my limits, but this phrase has helped me work better ; mainly because I used to use 100% of my brain to attain perfection.

I realised soon enough that perfection is subjective. What may not seem perfect to me, might seem perfect to someone else.

Life teaches you a lot, and we're all learners regardless of age!

Arey sir, I don't bunk college without a valid reason. Hence 1st semester 100% attendance. Do note : i'm not a topper. But still I prefer to have my notes completed, so that makes life easier during exams. But bunking once in a while is acceptable no?

So, this is a valid reason, no? I'm going for a urgent meeting

Aiyyo. I was the near opposite at your age, always cutting classes when I could, for good reasons, bad reasons, or no reasons at all.

Bunking classes every now and then is a-ok. Tell them a unique VVIP is in town and you need to study his brain to understand what’s wrong with him, so you don’t make the same mistakes in life.

Re: Mercedes A35 AMG Review | Go-go luxury go-kart | Meet my old-new baby AMG

I was hooked, I was engaged, I laughed, I had my eyes out, I screamed with laughter. I'd like to speak with your in laws, "Your daughter married the right man and make the habit of listening to that AMG when my man pulls up in the driveway." Review so good, it'd make a philistine, polished and cultured.

This review is the reason why I love teambhp, it's diversity, amazing write ups, you gave me an inspiration on my next post. Dont mind paying my internet bills if I get reviews like this. AM(G)azing review mate.

If my field of study was psychology, then I'd have definitely gotten attendance as well. But it's Engineering, I'll need some valid reason.

Let's say a seminar by a very successful person on how to study the internals of a car with practical experience

Thank you tofu bhai, I'm thrilled to see that your levels of delight are off the charts. But you should see a doctor about that eye condition, it doesn't sound good.

Indeed, Team BHP is a melting pot of everything from the absurd to the amazing, and everything in between. I'm glad I could serve as some form of inspiration, big or small. Many thanks again for dropping by, and your kind words.

Very good, creative thinking such as this is something no class can teach you. You've already got an edge over the legions of other youth your age. Well done, young padawan.

Congratulations Sir! Hope you have a blast with this mini-AMG.

At the cost of sounding repetitive among all the praise that you receive for your writing style, I read the entire thread at a stretch, always amazed as to what the next post would describe.

The flow of all the comic phrases and eye-pleasing photographs is just too good, the cockroach crackling on the throttle just made me crack up!!

I regularly spot an A45-S AMG hatch in Pune, in Yellow, and it looks smashing.
It looks even better here in the A35 sedan body form and those typical Mercedes design cues and lines all around.

I truly wish that the love for sedans should never die down in India, in spite of the amazing roads that we have, pun intended.

Ah My God!!! Damn Superlative Thread man.

Few months ago, i was tempted to DM you to check if you have purchased some car after Red, not because I wanted to know what car you might have but if a thread is gonna come up. Such is your writing. It’s a lost art and you, my friend have the ability to bring back this lost art form to life.

Congratulations and please keep adding to the thread. I’ll be honest, more than the car, its your writing that’s so captivating.

Hope to bump into you soon.

Cheers,
Raj

Much appreciated So often, I went down this mad creative rabbit hole wondering if I know the way out at the other end. I'm glad it paid off on occasions such as these.

You know, I'm not entirely sold on that yellow. I don't know why, but it just doesn't suit the A45 shape, or the A35 for that matter (in my opinion). But yes, the sedan is quite handsome, and lends itself well to a wide colour palette thanks to its design cues.

Same, mano, same. Just yesterday, I saw this amazing bit on how BMC's engineers are suffering from ADHD and Dementia all at once.

They spoke of the madness happening here in Mumbai, but it could be equally true of anywhere in India. Truly, the road to nowhere is paved with the worst of best intentions. Or best of worst, really.

Hahaha, perhaps you should have, it might have sped things along. This thread was some months in the making, and I have no qualms admitting that half the time I was too lazy to move the needle forward.

But thank you. Incredibly kind comments such as these are the kind of creative kindle that stokes my inner fire. So mucho grazie.

At some level, I suspected that to be true. But I'll take the win any which way it lands up at my doorstep.

See ya around!

Re: Mercedes A35 AMG Review | Go-go luxury go-kart | Meet my old-new baby AMG

Congratulations, iliketurtles, on acquiring what is essentially a sports car masquerading as a 4-door compact sedan!

Reading your thread brought a huge grin to my face, and reminded me of your old 328i.

Speaking of, your departure from the 328i eerily coincided with my arrival, and it strangely feels like the baton has been passed on to me. Can't hold a candle to your writing, try as I may.

Back to the A35, I'd first spotted one at the local detailer, parked up in front and basking in the sun. It was black, and it had some tasty green Petronas lashings and touches all over.. and then I heard it start up! I've been in love since, low ground clearance be damned! Even though the GLA35 is the more sensible choice, the A35 tugs at the heart strings like no other!

Enjoy in good health and keep writing!

ILT, I've been waiting for this thread since you bid farewell to your redhead. Congratulations on the bAbyMG, but honestly, I would have been glued to this review if you'd bought a Swift Dzire Tour CNG.

Your posts are what Sam Kapasi would have written if he enjoyed fast cars as much as he enjoyed audio and life.
