Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

What a lovely read. Congratulations on the 330i. Quite the perfect sports sedan for regular use, and at the same time put wicked grins on your face when you push the pedal to the max.

The white looks great and suits you me thinks.

Enjoy loads of kms with your BeeEm. Hope to see it someday.

P.S: You have one useful wingman

Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

Congratulations on your beautiful ride, Ajmat! Looks smashing! Wishing you the best with both motoring and memories.

On a side note, our family did purchase a BMW X1 two years ago from Luxe Cars, and the experience was smooth. There was also a slight error in the RC, which they proactively rectified.

One of the few faithful and trustworthy pre-owned luxury car dealers in Bangalore!

Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

Update

The 1st service was due and it never failed to nag me
  • Before I ever started the car
  • When I started the car
  • When I left the car

I booked online with Deutsche Motors. Cleaned the car up before I gave it. Engine oil, air filters and spark plugs were changed based on conditional service.Felt spark plugs were early. When I looked at then, they were a little gappy.

Car is more responsive (might be the placebo effect). Yes they added winscreen washer bottle and 5 bottle of fuel additive into the bill.

Total Rs 42000

Very polite service (should be for the money!). Parking is a bit tight though

Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

Many congratulations, Ajmat! I am sure the 3 will keep you smiling for a long time to come. I am on a similar journey of trying to "upgrade" from my now 12 year old 328i and the 330i is the front runner. But finding the right car is no walk in the park. Your write up, thus, is quite helpful in navigating the potential pitfalls. Thank you for posting and congratulations again!

Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

The 330i is a wonderful car, and I agree with you that it has more than enough power. I was hesitating between the 330i and the M340i when I was contemplating the purchase last year, and I ended up with the 330i as I got a great deal on a barely used car from a BMW dealer here in France.

The other thing about the pre-facelift 3 series is the presence of the physical switches for everyday stuff like the air conditioning, temp control etc. I am not a fan of having gigantic screens and having to plow through pages of menus to find stuff that should be at hand while driving.

I must ask you about how you manage to drive it in Bangalore. I visit every summer as my in-laws live there, and the road situation in Bangalore gives me the shudders if I have to project driving my car over there.

Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

Congratulations on the 330i. It is one heck of a ride, I recently picked up a used 330i sport and the experience has been amazing. The sheer power, handling and breaking are just phenomenal.

Have to agree with you on all the "Likes" and "Dislikes". Must admit that it is a tad bit uncomfortable especially in city speeds comparing to my previous car, the corolla Altis.

Congratulations on the 330i Ajmat. Its going to be a delight. The 330i is the best of the best and delivers far more value and driver engagement without the drawbacks of the drivers' car.

Re: BMW 330i MSport - Lowering my Standards from a Q3 to a mere 3

Congratulations Ajmat! You wrote the thread very well.

I own the same car as well same colour (alpine white exterior with mocha vernasca interior shade). We've bought it in 2020 October and we've driven around 72k km change in last 4.5 years. It's one of the most reliable cars we own now, we've done tyres once (due again soon), brakes overhaul once and general services till date. Suspension is expected this year along with rest all fluid changes overhaul.

I wanted to suggest regarding the driving modes is that whenever you feel like cruising but miss out on the feeling of exhuast sound, I suggest to put the car in Sport Individual (Steering sport, Engine Sport and Transmission comfort). Minor drop in FE about 1kmpl when cruising at 119kmph (120 it beeps ).

We use this car mostly on highways and hyderabad outer ring road and all members of our family do drive this car on medium to hard foot, frequent sprints to 200kmph and lot of high rpm shifts our car goes through often, even though the FE edges out about 13.5kmpl average per tank on IOCL XP95 or BPCL Speed fuel.

@ajmat, curious how much hit the GST on used car dealers makes to the overall cost? I think its only on the profit the dealer makes but thought to check your experience.
Thanks.

Thanks.
I dont have the exact details but I do believe GST is on the profit margin. I know this is the case in the UK. GST can be offset against work done in preparing the car for sale though.
