Petra 1.6

I took delivery of my Petra 1.6(black colour)on 11th of this month. All my dealings with Sundaram Motors here (Bangalore) were really good. Hope to get similar treatment in the future as well.
My sincere Thanks to Team-BHP for the great reviews and valuable information.
Happy Christmas and NewYear to all at Team-BHP

Enjoy..

GTO says its useless, but still?
Correction. I never meant that an Autocop is entirely useless. I currently use the same in all my cars and they have saved my stereos from theft on numerous instances.

What I mentioned was that it is not 100% secure. Some sophisticated theives today use an autocop jammer.

Actually even i found fiat to be very fussy with accessories. they said if i change the head lights the warranty would become void!!! also if i have to change the air filter and put in K&N's again the same c**P

I was talking to a K&N dealer, he suggested that i ask Fiat to give it in writing that the guarantee would become void if i put in a K&N filter.
btw, Bimal, a maruti dealer in Bangalore, offers a "Bimal edition Baleno", with 185/60 R 14 tubeless tyres, K&N Filter and a WARRANTY!!!!

Going by TVS' overall attitude, im of the opinion, whenever they dont want to do something, for whatever reasons, they bring up the void guarantee B**LS**T

btw, my wider tyres has made void the warranty on the suspension...

with such a restrictive guarantee/ warranty and such a lovely car i think its a blessing in disguise that they dont offer any extended warranty. otherwise how would i ever change the exhaust and the air filter!!!! ;-)

btw, a picture of the petra (with the campers) after a 3 day drive (of the total 5 days) through the Nilgiris is below

have some better pictures but not on this comp. will upload them later.

Hey have a doubt...

I read in times that Petra1.6 (Petrol) comes with a stereo. Would appreciate if anyone could throw some light on it. I have read some reviews here where owners have written that they have put up JVC/Sony/Kenwood systems.

Cheers,
Rocknrollz

By default, Petra Petrol 1.6 does not come with a stereo. But, the company was offering free music system + Insurance. Check with your local dealer on what scheme is being offered currently.

True. Here in bangalore they were offering free music system(Sony, I believe)only for the 2004 model. And no insurance waiver.

Nope, no stereo in the Petra 1.6... you get your own stereo, which is probably just as well :-)

Yes, they were offering music system only during December(End) - January(beginning) period for the 2004 model. I took my car on Dec-11th and I did not get this offer.
