Congratulations Vinay ... its an awesome car to drive ... having driven my friends 1.6 Sport, I know you have an absolute peach of a car!

Enjoy your drive and take it easy during the running-in ... augurs well for the future of the car ... and then you are ready to give most sedans a run for their money

Drive safe

Congrats vinay,
since there are so many palio owners on this thread, just asking, whats the after sales service like? I had a palio 1.2 when it was 1st launched in india. we all loved it, but after suffering at the hands of TVS motors in cochin who did the after sales stuff, we had to give it up. also spares were a problem.

I'm really missing that car and would like to buy a used palio1.9D and TC it

but it all depends on the A.S.S and spares availability. is it a hassle free experience owning the fiat now?

Palio Stile is coming with the 1.3 JTD soon. That would be a much better bet!

Thanks, guys, am loving every moment of it.
My initial interactions with Manipal motors and Vinay in particular has been very pleasant so far. Had a small issue with the radio not working, went to the Manipal motors workshop near Hebbal flyover, the guy in charge called Vinay and was told if they cant fix to replace it, there were about 10 people crawling all over the car, was fixed in 15 minutes, the car is beautiful to drive, getting an average fuel consumption of around 11 in city driving with 50/50 AC. More on that front later.

I suppose there isnt a rear defogger which is in Indica Xeta, right?

I'll be holding her probale in 2-3 months....lets see if 1.3D comes in that price...

Hi,

Nice buy! I too am interested in a Palio 1.6 but I want a car with ABS and airbags (atleast ABS). Any clue if Palio 1.6 comes with one or Fiat planning to bring out one with those?

Thanks.

No ABS at present, and the Fiat salesman told me that there were no plans to introduce it any time soon. So I wouldn't be too hopeful about that.

@Vinay: Beautiful car dude. Congrats! Test drove one recently... it's a beast. Get the run-in period over with quickly so you can explore her true potential!
Also, try upgrading the rubber if you can... you can use a bit of extra grip with that amount of power on tap!

That's true the standard rubber is not adequate as I found out to my dismay on mysore road, while doing around 90 a guy on a TVS riding on the extreme left of the road, cut in front of the car without a backward glance, as he spotted a gap in the divider and was intent on making that turn, the car went into a skid under braking, I could not turn to the left to avoid him as there was an Innova on that side doing the same speed, to the right was the divider. Turning to either side would have resulted in a huge accident, the right headlight and bumper was damaged. The car is in Manipal motors now, will take about a week to repair. Going to see her tomorow.
